Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
If ESR could leave the kebabs and fast food alone he'd be able to manage more than 50 minutes and he would get more of a chance. Sadly I think his career will never reach the heights he could get to because of his lack of will power.

Sauce BBQ:
Arsenal will reluctantly let England international Eddie Nketiah, 25, leave the club, with Fulham prepared to offer around £30m for the forward, who is also interesting Crystal Palace, Wolves and Everton. (Sun)
£30 Million!!???
What are we paying them or are they paying us? Either way fuck him off out of the door ASAP
The Gunners are also open to offers for Ukraine left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko, 27, who has been linked with Bayern Munich.
Yaaaaaaay! What a wonderful start to the day!

I would suggest that the club can want all they like, but when a player only starts THREE league games in a season, it is very hard to argue that he is worth more than £30m

Favourites like who Augie ? Zinchencko and Jesus who you have labelled as his favourites, hardly play and may well be moved on in the summer.
Smith Rowe, sadly, is not good enough, to get in the team, the level of clubs interested in acquiring him, should tell you that.
Our first 11 last season was pretty much nailed on - with LB being the place where it isn’t ( Timber will nail it down ) and Trossard forcing Martinelli to the bench due to his better output in goals and assists.
But don’t let facts get in the way of an opportunity to bash Arteta eh

Resigned as I've been for 2 years that ESR would be sold, I'd let him go to Wolves and make it part of a deal for Neto.
Yes, I'm banging the Neto drum again.

Sorry Stuart mate, but that's a bit revisionist. I was having arguments on here with one or two people a couple of years ago, for pointing out that Arteta didn't fancy ESR and was told that it was nonsense and that he'd be part of our star triumverate (ok, no one used that wordStuart L (2) wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2024 6:25 pmFavourites like who Augie ? As for Vieira and Eddie, neither have ever shown anything like the potential of ESR, but have had plenty of opportunities to prove they're not up to it. Zinchenko and Jesus were clear favourites imo and are only now possibly on their way out because their poor performances over an extended period can no longer be ignored even by Arteta. That said, I still have doubts that the non scoring striker will be sold.
All those you've mentioned have had more opportunity than they deserved and have all resoundingly failed. ESR was making a name for himself and it was evident to anyone with an understanding of the game that he was a serious talent, but has never been given the opportunity since that injury. Instead he sat on the bench for two and a half seasons watching Xhaka, Vieira, Partey, Jorginho and even Elneny on occasion, get a game before him. In my opinion, he's better than all of them and I've no doubt that it's a personality issue of some sort for Arteta. I can't know that, but nothing else makes sense. My only criticism is that he should have agitated for a move 2 summers ago
I hope the last couple of non playing seasons won't have damaged him too much and that he goes and has a stellar career elsewhere. Good luck to the boy.

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
ESR is never fit.
I was. Like you a huge admirer of him 3 years ago. He was a better prospect than Saka but now ?
You can’t play a player based on his performances 3 years ago.
Do you think there may be a reason he hasn’t figured fully since that injury ?
Why would a manager not play a player that could win a game ?
Because he is not doing it in training or his fitness stats are shite.
We all have opinions but know nothing about players training / fitness levels.
Why are we sat on computers spouting nonsense and not coaching / managing at a decent level ?

I find it absolutely amazing that some fans are happy to write off smith-rowe and deem him unprofessional or not fit enough because the cone boy doesnt play him
