As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
I see ex tottnumb cùnt Ralphy VanderFarts has been mouthing off singling out Arsenal player Oirish Deckers for criticism. In and of itself no harm there, Deckers was very very average throughout the tournament, but the irony of an ex-scum player calling an Arsenal player a waste of money is hilarious. Add in the fact that one of Arsenal's best players last season was Deckers, and that arguably England's worst player was trophyless scum "legend" and bottle job Fat Tongue, and the stupidity of VanderFarts hits an all time high.
Lineker was spot on.... It was a victory for attacking football.
Southgate is a poor manager who manages to make some of the best attacking players in the world look average.
One of my buddies over here said on our group chat last night that the bbc threw southgate under the bus in their post match analysis - any truth to that ? Like everyone else, I couldnt understand how kane lasted as long as he did, and personally I would have subbed foden way earlier too, but tbf spain have probably been the best team throughout the tournament, albeit it was a very poor tournament
I noticed it. That weren't openly scathing about Southgate, but Ferdinand, perhaps most obviously and Richards were clearly laying failure at Soutgate's door.
People need to step back and look far beyond the final and acknowledge that we were crap in every game. A pretty good 30 mins against Serbia in the opening game and the first half against the Dutch and that's about it. The rest was mind numbing and they looked like a team of strangers with no idea of what how they ought to be playing. Time to move Red Rum on.
On a note that DB refers to above...I'm not singling Declan Rice out particularly, but he's one of ours and he was poor throughout the tournament. I wasn't keen on us buying him and thought we paid far too much, but was pleasantly surprised last season. However, my judgement on him was largely based on how he'd performed for England and in my opinion he looks out of his depth at the very top level. It was similar against Bayern Munich in the CL last season. I'm glad we've got him, because we'd been far too long without a strong and solid centre mid, but many on here talk too freely about "world class", which he isn't.
No matter how good a player is, if they are played out of their best/most preferred position; along with other players, be they quality or not (which most of the England Squad were *) under a manager whose tactics, systems, planning and the ability to make the right substitutions at the right time are extremely poor; which Red Rums were, then that or those players will not achieve the same levels of excellence they do in the club team.
We've all seen how much more effective Declan Rice is when playing the more advanced role as a number 8 as opposed to the number 6 which he been required to play on occasions last season. Just as Saka as a winger is better as opposed to playing a Wing Back role under Red Rum
My main reason for wanting England to win was that any Arsenal players in the squad would get the benefits etc
I was surprised they got to the Final with Red Rum in charge as he strikes me as being Tactically Inept" and nowhere near as Proficient as the other Managers of the International teams; even the likes of Turkey ! Who with far lesser quality in their squad played with more passion and tactical nous.
England have some of the Best players available, but if they are to win anything they need an equally competent coach / manager and not a Clown like Red Rum who may say the appropriate or appeasing things in interviews but has proven to be fucking useless at actually selecting the best players instead of his favourites like Fat Tongue who was seriously Bad.
(*) Trippier & Fat Tongue being shown for what they are Too Old, Slow and fucking well past it.

The majority of games were of an absolutely awful quality of football, and a sad Indictment of modern football.
Arsenal over international football all day every day!
Agreed NBG. Someone said to me today that it was no disgrace to lose to a "fantastic" Spanish side. I said that in my opinion, Spain are far from "fantastic" and just happen to be better than the rest of the very mediocre assortment in the tournament. Yes, they've got a couple of very good youngsters, but the Spanish side of a few years back would paralyse the current team.

I read in the Guardian that the Copa America was just as shit, but even more badly organised.
Argentina won, but like Spain, because everyone else was worse. Check out Brazil's results, they only beat Paraguay.
Football is dying on many fronts, not least through lack of a break for many players

Just seen footage on Slysports and it looked like loads of Bin Dippers trying to bunk into the final

Must have been Leeds, Rangers and Chavs supporters doing it and trying to blame it on the dippers again.
