It's early days cos there is a massive lack of transfers thus far, but as things stand I dont see a single club that have done enough to jump above us this season - villa have done business early but have lost as well as gained, so I dont see them overtaking us. I expect a serious drop off from the victims this season with stupid teeth and at least one of their top players will leave imo (probably alisson or salah), Manure still have ten haag ( ) and are overpaying for the players they brought in, and are an absolute mess off the pitch with as many as 250 staff predicted to be let go - turmoil off the pitch will let to more turmoil on it imo, and this *****-a-thon they had about the cycling guy squeezing out the glazers could very well blow up in their faces The chavs are the chavs and miles off the top teams with a brainless owner and an inexperienced manager and sub standard team, and the geordies are looking like they are gonna lose a top player or two plus fat eddie could be england bound which could derail them.

A few big transfers could change the whole outlook of the league of course, but right now it just looks to be a very average league

For me the elephant in the room is Saliba.

He gets any kind of medium to long term injury and we will finish anywhere from 3rd out to 5th. Without him that defence falls apart, particularly Gabriel.

All going well on the injury front and with a decent left back and/or decent defensive midfielder added, and then yep I could see us cruise to 2nd because of the state of the other clubs as much as anything else. But the depth of quality in our squad (as against the starting 11) is so thin we are always an injury or two away from catastrophe.

Good call Augie with regards to the other teams, new managers and what signing are made by us and them.

There is also the not so little issue of the 115 Charges against Cheaty and if they will ever see the light of day in a Hearing/Court-room or whatever.

Sadly I think Cheaty will 'negotiate' their way through and out of them ie: Pay off whomever needs paying etc.

We have run them close on a very thin first 11 and an even thinner squad, which for me is why it's Hugely Important that we really do just get rid of the deadwood: Reiss-Nelson, Nketiah etc BUT also Bring in the Absolute Vital players that All of Us on here "Know" we must have if we are going to actually Win the Damn Thing!

Calafiori and Merino are 2 decent mid-fielder/defenders.

But a proven "Striker" is absolutely Essential.

Added to that of course is it looks like the Portuguese Pussy and Slugchenko are going nowhere

Had we not the best defence last season ? And we had Timer to come into the defence too so I am wondering where all these players are gonna fit in - yes I understand the talk about loads of games, rotation ( ), but having squad depth in defence is great AFTER you address the glaring need for a quality number 9 and a quality number 6 defensive midfielder

Personally Timber comes in as first choice right full but I doubt the cone boy sees it that way
