ALL Transfer talk - merged thread

Only saw Merino make a couple of late substitute appearances at the Euros, so don't want to make negative judgements. All I would say is that a 28 year old from Real Sociedad, who most of us had never heard of, sounds like a last 10 years Wenger signing.

Looks like the bloke failed to make the grade at Dortmund and then the Geordies, which doesn't fill me with too much confidence. He's hardly the top quality centre mid that we need to take us up to Europe's top table.

Oh well. :|

🚨 BREAKING

Agreement reached between Arsenal and Real Sociedad for Midfielder Mikel Merino! 🇪🇸

€30m + bonuses 💰

Merino will join Arsenal in the next few days

[@MatteMoretto]
Well if the rumour monger is wrong he will be looking a bit sheepish
So it seems Bobby WASN’T pulling the wool over our eyes, re Merino.

🚨More on Eddie Nketiah, understand it will be around £23 million fee with just under £3 million in add ons. Player has said yes and deal now close to completion.

Arsenal and Marseille keen to close the deal #AFC @TEAMtalk.

We are signing a new striker. I don’t know who it is yet though.

I saw a picture pop up online earlier today with Pepe holding an Arsenal shirt. I nearly passed out in shock thinking that we'd bought him again.

Yes Red, that will no doubt be enough for Arteta and for many supporters. Who knows, he might turn out to be a good signing, but he didn’t make the grade at Dortmund or Newcastle and I’d expect a 28 year old who was top quality to be playing somewhere other than Sociedad.

If we end up doing 60-65m on a Coventry city reject who has had one good season in the mighty Portuguese league (think division 1 with Chelsea and Spurs thrown in as the'big' teams)........ I'll be fucking fuming!! Gyokeres is worth about 25m, tops.

If he buys a striker at all, you just know it will be a second rater, so Gyokeres it is TeeCee.

To be fair to the bloke, I've never seen him kick a ball, but Coventry and Sporting doesn't fill me with confidence.`

On face of it that is obvious solution, but then the part of me that over thinks things asks the same question as I asked when we bought jesus and zinchenko ........ would citeeh sell players to us if they really rated them ? The answer to date is a resounding now just as it has been whenever the chavs and manure sold players to us - big clubs do not sell good players to their rivals, unless it is AFC who are doing the selling and want to help whiskey nose bow out with a league title :censored: :cussing: :cussing: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
