ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
I don't think cheaty want to sell him, it's him wanting more game time is the reason for the sale.

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Personally, haven't been impressed with him and when I saw this rumoured a few days ago, my reaction was the same as augie's....buying our so-called competitor's cast-offs. It hasn't worked so far and we need to be better than that.
He arrived after Arteta had left City, so hopefully the connection isn't there.
Which means I've cursed it and we're sure to buy him now.

Have to agree, he isn't a "Finisher" and definitely Not the calibre of finisher that we so desperately need. Apparently Pep's daughter wants to jump his bones, so I think that's why they are keen to get shot of him; I mean besides the fact that he's not that good.Retro Gunner wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2024 9:15 pm

£27m deal. We are never getting near £34m when the clauses involve Fulham qualifying for Europe.mcdowell42 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 02, 2024 1:01 pmEmile Smith Rowe joins Fulham from Arsenal in a £34m deal | @Football_LDN
Absolutely gutted that he has gone and Vieira stays. A definite black mark against Arteta in my eyes.

Now if they were selling The Over-sized Cabbage Patch Doll aka: Mongo (©DB10)- Then yeah! Why Not!.
I've emailed Pep (anonymously) saying that Mongo has been sending his daughter inappropriate text messages, and am awaiting the 'for sale' announcement.

You often read stories about big clubs selling young academy graduates like smith-rowe and including a buy back clause in the deal, and you wonder why AFC never do it - of course when you think about it, there would be no point in doing it as long as the cone boy is in charge cos smith-rowe wont get a chance with him anyway

I'd love to say that this is a pivotal point in the cone boys tenure with us cos if smith-rowe was to go to Fulham and shine it should (in theory) raise questions about the cone boy, but sadly the reality is that the current AFC fanbase are thrilled to be living on the cusp but winning nothing, so they wont care one jot

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
ESR too good for Fulham
I feel bad for the boy.
Surprised Emery didn't go for him.

I can’t help but think ESR has just fucked his career by going to Fulham. He may be a regular starter for them, but he’ll be playing in the championship within the next few seasons because Fulham are absolute gash

Mikel Arteta added: “Emile’s commitment, attitude and energy every day was first class, always stepping up when the team needed him. He came into the first team and was instrumental during a difficult moment for us. He created an important impression, with his strong performances making our supporters proud.
“I’m sad that Emile is leaving us,but excited for him to take this new opportunity at this stage of his career, when he needs to be starting matches and playing regularly.
Just a thought Mikel, but maybe if you’d played him and not treated him like a cünt then maybe he’d have stayed….

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Weird how some seem to think Arteta just plays his favourites.
Arteta and the coaching team see the players in training day in and day out, but according to some that’s totally irrelevant, Arteta has his favourites and he just plays them.
Rather than pick the team that he believes is the team most likely to win a match, he chooses to pick the players he likes the most.
Arteta is like the majority of managers, they aren’t seeking to be best friends with players, they choose a team to win matches.
Of course most managers will sell players that they feel are bad in the dressing room and squad, not that there is any suggestion ESR was.
Of course he is a good player, but good enough to be a regular in a title competing team, I don’t think so.
£27m plus add ons is a reasonable amount.
Good luck to him, but I don’t believe this is a bad decision.
As for the sell Viera comments, maybe Arteta would like to, but there haven’t been any offers, maybe Viera doesn’t want to go.
The way some people post on here, they make it sound so easy buying selling players.

Three words and your whole argument falls down ....... jesus and zinchenko - the cone boy spent big money bringing two players that pep had decided were not good enough to be regulars in a title winning team, and when it comes to how to win titles, pep has forgotten more than the cone boy will ever know
