ALL Transfer talk - merged thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Williams is only 22 and one of the best wingers around already. Wages are probably too high for us though. I'd have thought Bakayoko from PSV is a better option........unless we try to sign another cast off from Utd in Sancho

First Eddie, now Vieira…..if we can just manage to flush Partey between now and the window closing I’ll be walking around with a semi until Christmas :barscarf:
Partey is like one of those stubborn skids on the pan when you've had 8 pints of Guinness and a whole malt loaf. No matter how many times you try and piss the fucker off, he sticks around!

🚨🇪🇸 𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 | Arsenal now weighing up move for Nico Williams (22) in last week of transfer window!

There is an awareness that his preference is to stay in Spain, reports @MiguelDelaney. 🔴✨

That would be a big no thanks from me - I see him as a less bulky version of adama traore or doku, in other words all pace but fcuk all brains. Those type of footballers always look good at youtr mid level clubs where the gameplan is based around energy and commitment, but when they step up to the top level and a more intricate/thinking man's tactics are needed they constantly struggle
Don’t be ridiculous. Williams is quality.
Don't be nonsensical. He's average to goodish at best.

And as augie rightly says I doubt he has the guile and deftness of touch or football brain for the PL. Reminds me a bit of that headless chicken at villa years ago - was it Tony Daly? Would Sprint with the ball at a hundred miles an hour and the accidentally run off the pitch at the end line and then try cross the ball before colliding with the advertising hoardings. All pace and power, no brains.
This is 90s babble from a bunch of whinny old men. Spain produces the most high IQ and tactically astute players in world football. Him and Lamin Yamal were easily the best players at the Euros. These are technically gifted and very intelligent players and it is disingenuous to suggest otherwise. He walks into any team in the PL. Academic conversation anyway. He will go to Barcelona if they can free themselves of their economic shackles.
Listen, if you can't respond in an adult debate without name calling like a child because you are wrong, do everyone a favour and don't respond. There's a good lad.

Jesus rumoured to be injured long term.

Nketiah has been offered a new improved contract to ward off Forest.

Williams looks class and I would imagine many top clubs in Europe would want him.

It’s amazing how Spain won the Euros, were generally viewed as the best team in the tournament and yet had rubbish like Williams and Merino playing for them.

And who did they beat in the final ? Yes they beat an england team derided by the fans and media alike for being shite for 90% of the tournament  Worst euro's in living memory and all the top teams were poor, but hey if that doesnt suit your narrative then lets call all the spanish players top quality including morata and the chav c.unt at left back too

What’s nonsense that I think Williams appears to be a good player?

Plenty of others seem to think the same.

Is this a message board where unless posters agree with you or your pal then they are talking nonsense.

If I wanted to disagree with everything Augie writes then I’d spend most of my day on here.

I rarely read what he writes as I know he will be slagging Arteta, Edu, club or players.

If we put in proper bids for Williams & Toney that'd probably sort us out.
Keep Jesus for off the bench roles only.
