ALL Transfer talk - merged thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Don’t be ridiculous. Williams is quality.
Don't be nonsensical. He's average to goodish at best.

And as augie rightly says I doubt he has the guile and deftness of touch or football brain for the PL. Reminds me a bit of that headless chicken at villa years ago - was it Tony Daly? Would Sprint with the ball at a hundred miles an hour and the accidentally run off the pitch at the end line and then try cross the ball before colliding with the advertising hoardings. All pace and power, no brains.
This is 90s babble from a bunch of whinny old men. Spain produces the most high IQ and tactically astute players in world football. Him and Lamin Yamal were easily the best players at the Euros. These are technically gifted and very intelligent players and it is disingenuous to suggest otherwise. He walks into any team in the PL. Academic conversation anyway. He will go to Barcelona if they can free themselves of their economic shackles.
Listen, if you can't respond in an adult debate without name calling like a child because you are wrong, do everyone a favour and don't respond. There's a good lad.
I was responding to Augie sir and you decided to stick your oar in, in some power trip. Now you’re accusing me of juvenile behaviour. Do you not see the irony? I’m pretty sure Augie can defend himself in argument without needing you to rescue him.

Football has moved on since the 90s and players have evolved. Try to be a bit more open minded when discussing modern players.
Don’t question two tier Kier. He might ban you while letting his pals off.

You preach about open minded debate but show zero signs of it yourself and you dont see that as a problem - you dismiss conflicting opinions as nonsense or ridiculous so how open minded is that ? As a rule I dont really get into debate with people who dont have the maturity to have a reasonable debate and that is why I didnt bother responding to your post, but when you start preaching to others about the need to be open minded, then that is where I draw the line. You and one or two others seem so blinded with an agenda against certain members (me being one of them), that adult debate is impossible for you

I don’t mind you Augie but you are dismissive of others views. This place should be a melting pot of different views and as long as it’s reasonably good natured it should be allowed to carry on as such without any refereeing. Micro managing it in favour of a certain clique has killed it.

It's childish to call people "whinny old men" because you disagree with them. Surely you can see that?

As for Sticking my oar in on a power trip? It's a football forum. It's open debate.

Players have evolved? Oh, right that means they are all amazing then does it? Step up evolved football genius Eddie Nketiah. Join him in the spotlight Zinchenko.... you get my point.

I would say that the modern obsession with systems means players in general are not as intelligent or creative nowadays because they are coached to retain possession, at the cost of creativity and individualism. If anything the individual player has not evolved, but rather regressed.

Tying your flag to a racist's boat huh, Stu?

Wow, genuinely thought that was beneath you.

Read what that racist posted when he got owned in a slagging match by a couple posters:
BobbyPires7 wrote:

I doubt it sunshine. The only paddies round here are either flytipping the country lanes or robbing pensioners of their hard earned.
Then compare that to a couple of people firing off "you Argie bastard" in anger during the heat of a match.

Can you see the difference?

The racist that posted the first comment was warned and banned for a week because that is a hard-core racist comment. He got off light.

The couple of posters that used the "Argie" term were warned and had their posts deleted.

That's called modding with consideration for the tone, content, and context of the post.

Should I just ban everyone that posts something unpleasant? There are degrees of abuse and degrees of insult. And the punishment is also done in degrees.

As for micro managing? Pull your head in ffs.

You say half the shit you get away with on here on any other forum and you would get an instant permanent ban. I let a huge amount of dodgy content go on here to ensure it is not micro managed. But even here there are rules. And its always someone that has broken the rules that starts whining about "micro managing" or "over modding".

If you don't like it. Leave. No one will care. Its a football forum.

🚨🌳 EXCL: Nottingham Forest submit new bid to Feyenoord for Santiago Giménez.

Proposal worth €33m package, add-ons included; it’d be club record sale for Feyenoord.

Gimenez, open to the move but now up to the clubs again. 🇲🇽

It’s third proposal from #NFFC for Giménez.

Not looking good if we're trying to sell Eddie to them.

All forum members are equal, but some are more equal than others ?
Tying your flag to a racist's boat huh, Stu?

Wow, genuinely thought that was beneath you.

Read what that racist posted when he got owned in a slagging match by a couple posters:

How is that tying my flag to a racist’s boat ? 🤣 I’ve quoted Bobby P’s post and then added my own comment.

It’s a parady of Animal Farm’s “all pigs are equal but some are more equal than others “

That other post was quite rightly removed yet, you have chosen, deliberately to repost it ? Thus putting it on display again, :rubchin:
