I know I'm a pessimistic fucker, but I look at that, think of our performances in Europe and wouldn't be surprised if it's only 3 wins, 4 at most. Someone on here said that 3 wins gets you through, so we might manage it.

Re: Champions League draw 2024/25
No fucking idea about the whole fucking format but if we've got to play that set of fixtures to get into the next round of whatever it is that comes next then, that isn't too bad at all.
The whole thing looks very much like someone's tried to make a European Super League without mentiong the words European Super League. "For fuck's sake, don't call it a European Super League. Say something like 'Competition in a home and away format with overall positions based on the most wins and draws for teams in Europe.' All OK, with that?"

Of the 36 team league phases ,the top 8 will automatically qualify for the last 16,
The next 16 teams will play knock out playoffs to go through to the last 16 ,
and the bottom 12 teams will be eliminated

Re: Champions League draw 2024/25
I did not think they could make the chumps league any more shit or any more tedious but by golly they've only gone and fucking done it!
I predict I will watch only highlights of most of our games and fucking zero minutes of the other 4590 matches in that first round or group or (shh whisper it) league.

Re: Champions League draw 2024/25
We all hate the prospect of a super league say UEFA.....until we effectively invent our own version which just so happens to be even more boring and bloated. As if the group stage wasn't boring enough dragged out till December, now it's going on till January. The 4 month boreathon just became the 5 month borefest!DB10GOONER wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 12:42 amI did not think they could make the chumps league any more shit or any more tedious but by golly they've only gone and fucking done it!![]()
