ALL Transfer talk - merged thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I didnt realise that neto is 35 years old until I read it on sky website there now   I wanted a clear definition/gap between first choice keeper and back up keeper so from that regards signing an older keeper makes sense, but he is 35 ffs  Can a 35 year old keeper keep his reflexes sharp when he is only playing a cup game every so often ??

Told you would sign a Mart Poom type player. Roddaz knows.

Don’t see any issue with sharpness, keepers are well used to that shit.

A taller keeper tips the ball over the bar against Villa and wouldn’t need to make the follow up save.

Correct ,.

Watching Ronaldo drill 40 yard free kicks into empty stands. The beautiful game.

Some hysterical bint on SSN squealing about Toney and Oshimen going to Saudi - what a forward line for Al Ahli she says in her squeaky voice surrounded by three "influencers" I presume with all their cool cat street talk

Fuck off. Can't wait for the window to end. Too much air time given to these c.unts making football a children's event

Could equally have posted on the Modern Football Bollocks thread

Maybe I'm just old! Getting excited about 2 greedy c.unts officially retiring their ambition in the peak of their careers to play in a league no fucker gives a shit about. Yay, this is progressive stuff

Well at least now I know that I won't be getting stressed about the league.

Same old shit.

I think there is a chance Arteta is heading for a rude awakening.

Senior sources in Saudi Arabia saying they do not see how it is possible for Al Ahli to sign Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney. Al Ahli do not have two slots available for two foreign players - unless one of them is Under 21. Saudi Pro League clubs are allowed 10 foreign players in their 25 player squads.
We are also told they don't need another two strikers and they do not have the budget for both players.  To sign both players Al Ahli would have until Monday night's midnight SPL deadline to free up a slot by selling a foreign player.

Not according to ssn - they can only sign ONE more foreign player and dont have money for both

I'm beginning to think that nketieh will end up staying - deal taking too long, jesus injured, and no striker incoming all point to him staying

It’s looking likely that Raheem Sterling will stay at Chelsea or move to Arsenal today. There is just as much chance of him staying as leaving. Sterling is not involved in any club to club discussions. His immediate future will depend on how conversations develop today.
Sterling’s family are settled in London and he wants to play regularly in the Premier League. He also want to win back his place in the England squad.
Sterling has worked with Mikel Arteta before and he has a very good relationship with him. Arsenal are a model club who challenge for titles and they are in the Champions League.Sterling has three years left on his Chelsea contract so he is not under pressure to move.

Sterling is on £325k pw and has 3years left on his contract. Not an easy negotiation financially but for once we will hold the upper hand because we are no longer desperate for scraps like perpetuated under Wonga.
