I’m in the minority, I think Sterling improves the squad.

I appreciate had a very poor season at Chelsea and for that reason plus people writing him off I think he will be bang up for it.

He’s 29, not 39, I’m happy with the signing.
Do you really think he wants to play for the Arsenal, or just to pocket the cash?

Every cast off we take from the Chavs has been a disaster, nothing convinces me this will be any different.

And I reckon this will be the end for Martinelli. He will go the same way as many, many other players Diet Pep no longer fancies. He'll be gone next summer having only cameo performances this season. You can see it coming.
Tets will be gone next summer.

It’s like signing Theo Walcott in his twenties. Utterly pointless.

It’s midnight and the window has been closed for an hour. Surely Sterling can’t be going to Arsenal, can he?

PS I hope everyone at Arsenal has been turning the fax machine off whenever they go by it.

Pocket the cash?

Guarantee he’s on less dough at Arsenal than Chelsea.

I’m happy with this deal, so before everyone jumps on it, let’s see how it works out.

"There are NINE deal sheets that have been submitted to the Premier League.

Included in them are reportedly: Reiss Nelson (Arsenal to Fulham), Raheem Sterling (Chelsea to Arsenal), Carlos Soler (PSG to West Ham) and Armando Broja (Chelsea to Everton)."

Seriously utterly pointless?

Really Sterling is a pointless signing.

I feel jump on the bandwagon sometimes.

Nearly scores 1 in every 3 games, but yeah he’s pointless!!!!

He’s finished second twice against a team many experts think are the best ever in the premier league.

People have VERY VERY short memories.

You can imagine he had quite a nosebleed when he found out that he was allowed to actually negotiate a deal.

He won’t be scoring 1 in 3 at Arsenal. He was scoring less than 1 in 4 at Chelsea. 14/59. He is on the wane. Also less than 1 in 4 for England (20/82) and he played against some minnows in his time.

One trophy, five years ago, with Emery's team. Over £700 million spent. Not. good. enough.
Call me old fashioned but second place is not a trophy.

Yeah Arteta is a mug, anyone he signs is a mug.

He overpays for players, sells players to cheap.

Funny how he manages to push City to the limit.

Anyway keep slagging

Uncle Arsene must be delighted. This has been a real throwback, the definitive stereotype of a Wenger style transfer window and his protege has done him proud. A serious club and manager has a thought out and planned transfer window, but ours was all over the place as usual and just to prove how disorganised we are, we had a Wenger type, last day trolley dash, signing whoever our competitors no longer want and hawking out our own dross.

Cards on the table, I’ve never been an Arteta man, he shouldn’t have got the job in the first place and I can’t warm to the bloke. I would have sacked him at the end of the 2021/22 season, but I was happy to admit that he’d improved us in the last couple of seasons and got us into a position where we needed only a couple of key players to be able to properly compete at the top level.

First and foremost we all knew that we needed a quality, goal scoring striker, the type we’ve been missing for too long. Many of us also knew that Arteta wasn’t going to buy that CF. He plays with one up front and no way was he going to buy a bloke and sit Havertz and Jesus on the bench. We have have a manager that genuinely seems to think that Havertz is the answer up front. The German will be the rock on which Cone Boy flounders and sinks.

So, no striker, but typically painful, drawn out, mind numbing sagas to get Calafiori (can’t see where or how often he’ll play, which will cause him to get pissed off) and Merino, who was a “meh” signing for me and has now broken his fucking shoulder!

We sell ESR, an absolute fan favourite (but you need to be a Cone Boy favourite), yet still have Partey and Zinchenko stinking the place out. At least we’ve got shot of Eddie, Ramsdale and Nelson.

So a disappointing, Wengeresque window, failing to address the clear requirement for a CF, but just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse, up pops the Sterling story and we all knew it was gonna happen. This has done me. I’m way beyond fucking furious. Once again we’re within touching distance of being a top side and we sign yet another Chelsea fucking cast off. Our ridiculing of us signing the dross they don’t want has reached parody levels, but I can’t fucking believe that we’ve self harmed in exactly the same way again!

I have the resigned contemptuous feeling that I had during the Fraud’s last 10 yrs and signing Sterling, even on loan, has killed any enthusiasm I had. As others have said, Cone Boy has nowhere to hide now. He’s been royally backed by the owner, this is his team and his faith in Havertz and Jesus, plus the refusal to add a quality CF is going haunt him and he deserves all he gets.

I’m sick of this club always failing to take the final step and I’m sick of a manager that plays favourites and buys cast offs who he knows. It’s evidence that he’s a weak manager, but who tries to give a tough guy impression.

I’m uncertain about the Brighton game, because it always depends which Brighton turn up, but if they have a good day we will struggle. I’m expecting the scum to beat us comfortably…2-0, or 3-1….and the pressure will build on Cone Boy.

Fucking Raheem Sterling!! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :cussing: :cussing:
