Jamie Redknapp and Paul Merson both believe Arsenal's Jurrien Timber was "lucky" and "fortunate" to stay on the pitch after his "reckless" challenge in the first half of the North London derby at Tottenham.

What a pair of muppets, If thats their level of red card then may as well just not play, for all of Porro's antics and screaming he seemed perfectly fine 2 minutes later and saw out the game.
Very embarrassing from those. Merse is always looking for his viral moment and of course sick note Redknapp couldn’t handle a tackle.

Wright and Hoddle said they didn’t think it was even a yellow and it’s a well known technique in football and Timber barely touched Porro who was clearly play acting.

I said that at the time, not even a yellow, let alone a red.
I didn't even think it was a free kick. Back in the day it would have been fine. Timber's foot is on top of the ball as the scum player comes in with his foot raised. Timber's foot slides over the top of the ball and makes a bit of contact. It doesn't make it a free kick and certainly not a card. Game's gone

Timber should have been sent off, it was a foul before the Gabriel header, wah, wah, wah fucking wah. They’re all absolutely seething and I’m here for their salty tears.

What time is MOTD on so I can get my cock out and wave it in the air for the duration of it.

I agree with you falkirk, both Sterling & Jesus were fucking hopeless.
Sterling just ran around like a c.unt from the moment he came on. Nothing unusual there because he is a c.unt.
Jesus did the same but he's a pathetic twat that we firstly never should've bought and secondly got rid of in the summer.

Saliba gets a yellow card early on in the game, after that we didn't see him have to go to ground once . Always reads the game perfectly.

Gabriel**chef kiss**

Timbers an absolute tank.

Martinelli got some stick for his attacking play, but his work rate never drops. A bit more whip and lift on his shot and that's a goal, that's all he needs for his confidence in front of goal.

Havertz role today was vital bringing others into the game.

Thought it'd be a nailed on loss after the Rice red card and injuries so still absolutely buzzing :barscarf: :barscarf:

Another win at the toilet bowl is obviously satisfying with the limited midfield options we had. I was however frustrated with how poor our passing was throughout the match. Simple quick passing is crucial but we really struggled with that aspect today and against a better team (Citeh) we will be punished. Partey was once again lethargic. Although a great result we need to up it considerably for the cheats next w/e.

Redcrap and Merse got it spot on.

Timber's reckless challenge was potentially career-ending and has no place on the football field.

I thought he deliberately set out to injure a fellow professional, and the fellow was lucky to escape with the very slightest of touches on his leg.

I am amazed that Sky showed a replay of it. Thought the Spurs players should have immediately surrounded the stricken player, before a protective screen could be erected as the medics got to work. The look of horror on the players' faces, as they realised the extent of the injury, was difficult TV to watch.

All credit to Porro. He could have rolled around in agony and made the most of it, but true sportsman that he is, he clearly absolved Timber from any blame whatsoever, a view clearly endorsed by the Spurs' keeper in laudably attempting the calm the situation down.

If Timber escapes with less than a 10 game ban he can regard himself as very lucky.

Disgraceful. I still feel physically sick watching it back.
