City will get some sort of punishment, that has to happen or the whole principle of PSR/FFP is undermined. I have seen some of the leaked emails and documents relating to dubious sponsorship deals with Etihad. They are widely available if you look hard enough.

I recogn there will be a negotiated settlement, say a 20-40 points deduction with a fine, which might impact City for one season, but given they could be relegated they will take begrudgingly shut up and be happy that they got off so lightly. The PL will claim they are doing their jobs properly and thats the last we will hear of it.

If it does go nuclear and City are relegated, then expect them to get the big hitting lawyers in and this will drag out for years.

Some of the comments here are funny, City won't sue the hand the feeds them ie the PL or expect them to cover their legal costs, its all about how much they can get away with and damage limitation. The PL generates billions in revenues these days from TV deals alone.

I am sure it's been said already but the legal costs ramifications for the PL would be catastrophic if City get off, or just receive a slapped wrist. I read their KC is on £5000 per hour and the 'hearing' is set to last 10 weeks. The PL is probably using a 'no win no fee' ambulance-chasing sort of organisation.

Personally, I would expect more than even the best legal advice if I were paying someone £5000 per hour. I think there are some discreet Kensington agencies which do provide services at that sort of level. But there's probably an hour's minimum charge, in case you were wondering, with no pro-rata refund offered.

So is it little wonder when all the journo's and pundits start accusing Arsenal of 'Dark Arts & Dirty Tricks' when a certain team/club (who just happen to be currently under investigation and going through a lengthy (Closed Shop) legal process of 115 Charges almost lose at home and how that potential loss is nipped in the bud when Michael Oliver reduces Arsenal to 10 men for reason/s that both VAR and the 4 Officials overseeing said game at the time differed.

VAR initially said it was for delaying play (by kicking the ball away) But Oliver (initially) said it was the 'physical challenge / foul by Trossard on Silva. At least till they had a post-match consult and came up with a tailored load of Bollocks.

Has anyone else noticed how when a Wrong Decision has been made by a Referee (last season Brentford / Fat Bellied ToonCunts) that cost us 4 very valuable points and Now Rice and Trossard being Red Carded; again costing us 4 points.
