Agree with others about Ramsey and Wiltshire, although the latter was not too big a surprise as I saw him a couple of times for the youths and reserves and he looks outstanding. 8) Everyone else were pretty average (although Barazite did okay when he came on).

I've said it before that I think Wiltshire is another Joe Cole in the making - but with 2 good feet!! (No comparisons with Hleb please, as Wiltshire scores goals and sets them up, like Cole but unlike the Hlebster!! )

Must say that as well as Bendtner, I thought Denilson was shocking!!  I also have fears about the defenders coming through the system because as far as I can see, none of them know how to do it properly - even though Steve Bould is one of the coaches.

Lots of people have high hopes for Nordtveit but although he is a good in the air, passes the ball well and is a decent tackler, he lacks pace and strength and in reality is a million miles away from being ready for the premiership in the foreseeable future. :(

Still, even though the performance wasn't great, it's always good to get off to a winning start. 8)

Did Wenger really say Ade is definately staying? now, that will be interesting!

If he stays, then I think a quick boo at his first match back at the Grove...then let him get on with playing for Arsenal.

Forgiven..but not quite forgotten

Is it in Arsenal's interest that he stays ?

Fast forward to next March.

If Addy has done well expect to hear plenty of planted stories about "I want a hughe rise or I'm off" or - if he's been rubbish "my heart is in Barca with my family..."

Either way just as we hit the business end of the season, his obnoxious ego takes centre stage.

Flog him NOW !!!!!!!!!!!

If he does stay, I think he'll try to clear up his name before the season starts.
I won't boo him, but I guess some will. I think we can find a place in our hearts to forgive.

He'll never be one of the fans favorites again, though and I do hope we'll never hear the "give him the ball" chant ever again.

Yeah. It was his last question in his Arsenal TV interview after the match. It was the obvious question and he gave a quick no nonsense answer of 'certainly'.

I bloody hope so. And signings as in players older than 17 please.

Ramsey is good and Coquelin has potential (apparently) but I'd even settle for someone like Nasri - An established player who hasnt yet reached him peak - but is a decent player at the moment.

I'm being too picky but Kaka, Messi and Cannavaro woudn't be too shabby...

:-P

Quite easily I would imagine. Veiria got forgiven for some of his quotes, if Ade plays well then while he may never capture the same love, I think the booing will die down

Well credit to Barnet, made it a difficult game and probably deserved a draw. As for us....

In the first half, we were remarkly like the Spain U19 side. Keeper made a few good saves then makes an error (only, De Gear is 17, young for even that competition, whereas Almunia is one of the older members of the squad), solid fullbacks, awful defending in the centre, lots of possession and no penetration. Hoyte and Lanssbury at least could say they were out of position

second half was far better, some moments of real quality from the reserve string, still worrying at the back but we got a win in the end.

Forgot to say earlier that I thought the new kid Coquelin had a very good second half. Ran all over the place and wasn't afraid to get stuck in. 8) However, good as he was, it would be a big risk to throw him straight into the first team.

in the interview wenger said that he "expects ade to be back training monday", he didnt say he was definately staying. he also said he expected flamini to sign a new deal and that didnt happen.
he did also say that "we are in the market and if the right oppertunity comes along we will take it"

ade better fucking go or we are gonna be a mess, i will not feel right watching him up front and if he puts one foot wrong the crowd will murder him. we know he will fuck off next year anyway so lets just cash in for fucks sake. all that shit hes been saying on the season review winds me up cuz he doesnt give a shit about the club/the players/or wenger, hes a prick.

If it was from the annoying guy that standing next to me that wouldnt shut up all game, it was the adebayor give him the ball song. Until everyone in a 10metre radius told him to shut the fuck up.

You beat me to it IHH, I text my mate during the game to say that Wilshire looks like the new Joe Cole! If he carries on improving he's going to be one hell of a player! He'd only just turned 16 but ran rings around Barnet!!

Would'nt say Theo covered himself in glory like some people say though, didn't see him get one shot on target or beat one man??

Bendter was shite

Clichy was great as always after first 20 mins, Sagna still looks quality

Barazite seems skillful, might be a bit slow though, Nice finish from Simpson

Contrary to what someone wrote I thought Randall looked quite good today oh and Ramsey looks very composed on the ball, could def cope in the prem, not sure if he'd play alongside Cesc though

Overall not bad for a first game for the lads, we'll see how they do tomorrow night
