As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
He was (rightly) dropped for a few games because his head got turned when a truck load of Saudi cash was waved in front of it. Once he saw sense and decided that no amount of money was worth shit bombing your career playing pub football for he was back in the team the following game.
That was my understanding of it too,he had his head turned and was dropped to the bench.
I wouldn’t worry about it, Augie also blames Arteta when he doesn’t get enough chips with his tea
I’m probably more closely aligned with augie than anyone else is on here, but that made me laugh.
No maybe about it, you could be twins
You know how they say a picture can paint a thousand words............
I think we missed a trick when we could have signed Cole Palmer from Cheaty... He went to the Chavs for £40Million. Apparently we held a 'conversation' with his agent and he (Plamer) was keen to come to Arsenal but we didn't take it any further.
We signed Jesus (£40 Mill) & zinchenko (£30Mill) ... Both of whom have proved not good enough; Jesus because ehe is constantly injured and the latter just fuckin' useless and yet we didn't bother trying to get Palmer ... who is a Very Good player.
Even though we made what so far look like some decent signings in the Summer (* with the exception of the fat ex-cheaty & ex-chav Fat wife beatingCunt sterling) I think the large majority of peeps on here are of the same opinion that we should have signed a Striker in the Summer window.
Various names were mentioned, but during last season and (again) in the opening weeks to this season I have noticed just how good the Brentford player Bryan Mbeumo is. To the best of my knowledge he isn't played as an out & out striker, but I think he would definitely fit in well with our style of playing; he has pace, is strong and can finish really well. I think he would be a far better option than Jesus and is only 25 and he cost Brentford £5.5 million (ish) four years ago, he is proven in the Prem and his contract with the Bees is due to end next Summer.
And if we can tempt him away with higher wages etc I think he could be a viable option as a striker/forward through the middle of the field. He's a very good header of the ball, can hold-up the ball and can strike/finish really well.
" Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are both plotting a move for Arsenal's Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey, 31."
Barca/Athletico: "Sorry what is so funny?"
Arsenal: "Oh! Ohhh! Nothing... Okay how much were you thinking?"
Barca / Athletico: " ... Well he only has one year left on his contract with you... so Uhhhmmm in the region of £8 - £10mIllion! ? "
Arsenal: "Uhhhmmmm!... Okay, it's a deal... But can we pay you in instalments? "
Barca / Athletico: "Ohh! No! We are going to pay YOU!"
Arsenal: " Fluster ... Fluster... Yes Of Course that's what we meant..." (Dabs sweaty brow) "Yes.. Okay Sign Here Please ... He can go back with you on the plane today...is that okay!?"

Arsenal will still target a striker in the January transfer window, despite the promising start to the season made by Germany forward Kai Havertz, 25.
Let's hope so!
Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle United are all interested in Aston Villa's 23-year-old England youth midfielder Jacob Ramsey.
I much prefer we try and sign Jordan Duran from the Villians, he is going to be special.
Real Madrid want to sign Arsenal and France defender William Saliba as a "top priority" in 2025, with Los Blancos already in contact with the 23-year-old.
... We all knew that something like this would raise its ugly head sooner or later... BUT: FUCK-OFF You española CUNTWHORES - Fuck-OFF and Die youCUNTS!

It was a dot on the cards that lot would come in for him. As for "already in contact", I thought that was against the rules...not that the rules will ever stop it, although it's a bit much to be fucking blatant about it.
The trouble we were always going to face with the likes of Saliba and Saka, is that if we're not winning the big prizes their heads will be turned by those that are.
Still, I'm sure that Jesus, Zinchenko, Partey and Havertz will be happy to stay.

Lo and behold..... (Oct 22nd 2024) some 3 weeks later:
BBC:
"Arsenal are plotting a move for Brentford's 25-year-old Cameroon forward Bryan Mbeumo after his impressive start to the season"
