You can argue Saliba would have been lucky to stay on the pitch but the ref should have been perfectly entitled to award a yellow for that as there was also a clear interpretation where it’s a yellow. Intervening was ridiculous and then they make a rod for their own back when it then doesn’t intervene over the next 60-40 type decision.
The ref saw it in real time and gave a yellow. Since it was not a factual error, VAR shouldn’t have got involved. It’s highly debatable whether it was a red given how far away from goal Semenya was and White potentially covering. Outrageous decision tbh and Webb looks like a smug c*nt.

He’s sent a text so no transcript. Ear piece for listening and phone to communicate back to the VAR room by text.IW8Goalmachine wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2024 7:28 pmI can't see him being that stupid when he knows people can ask for the a transcriptrodders999 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2024 7:19 pmIf that’s what he’s doing in plain sight imagine what’s going on behind closed doors.

A stupid mistake is where most often corruption gets exposed and caught. Those doing it think they're untouchable and get careless.IW8Goalmachine wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2024 7:28 pmI can't see him being that stupid when he knows people can ask for the a transcriptrodders999 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2024 7:19 pmIf that’s what he’s doing in plain sight imagine what’s going on behind closed doors.

Remember when Van Dijk hauled down a Palace player inside the box in their last game and nothing was given?
Fun times.

Wonder who was on the phone that day. Because, apparently, that's a completely normal thing.rodders999 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2024 7:36 pmRemember when Van Dijk hauled down a Palace player inside the box in their last game and nothing was given?

The Bournemouth forum is quite interesting.
They are all in shock that they got given the VAR decision.
Also just listened to the radio 5 commentary bit just before the sending off. Both commentators clearly didn’t think it was a red. The main point here for me is the distance from the goal. It is too easy to say that Saliba was the last man. Yes he was but there is no way that he denied a clear goal scoring opportunity for Bournemouth.

Van Dijk just got lucky that this incident occurred in the 6 yard box rather than the real danger area on the half way line. He’d have been off otherwise.Perryashburtongroves wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2024 7:38 pmWonder who was on the phone that day. Re: Bournemouth A Sat 19th Oct KO 1730
Just thinking about the bald cûnt on the phone thing again and even, in the very unlikely event that he isn't in fact conversing directly with the referees, he has, at the very least, got a direct line to listen to highly sensitive information and a mobile phone. This phone, I'd assume has the ability to connect to the Internet and therfore, he can use his insider knowledge to make himself or others, extremely large sums of money on betting exchanges before information is relayed to the public. Like I said earlier, phones, laptops, iPads, Smart watches, whatever else, are all banned in a lot of sports for anyone involved in the match. This is to prevent any ability to influence the result or engage in gambling or relaying of information which can make money through gambling syndicates being alerted to information even a micro-second before the general public. He's tapping away at his phone the moment the ref books Saliba. He's not doing a calculation or looking at the calendar on his phone. That phone can message people and communicate.
Tonight, we've seen the head of the referees in the richest, most watched sporting league in the world, sit there accessing information which is highly sensitive to the outcome of the game and doing one if not all of the following with it: relaying it word for word to some other bloke next to him, thus breaking the protocol and therefore abusing his position- which should result in gross misconduct and dismissal, influencing the result of the match through artificial means- which should result in instant dismissal and fraud charges from the police or using a communication device to alert somebody to information which is unavailable to the general public and which could be used to generate money for himself, a friend, family member or betting syndicate- which should lead to instant dismissal, fraud charges, a custodial sentence if found guilty and a full criminal or Parliamentary inquiry into the trustworthiness of officials in the Premier League and the Premier League as an organisation.
There is something going on and I reckon it's known inside the game and tonight wasn't just an accident or by chance that they broadcast that. Somebody knows.

Full match report from sky, not a mention of Webb and his activities.
You’d think that Webb being a possible influencer in the red card decision would be brought up by any decent journalist with some integrity.
But no, trust sky that all is well!!
Long live drogon tv, never give sky a penny!!!

Sky started whitewashing about 5 minutes after the match finished and there were 3 minutes of adverts.
