Thanks. It's an interesting angle and I wouldn't doubt it. It seemed strange that after turning down a couple of offers from Villa and someone else over the last two years that Arteta suddenly decided to sell him to Fulham. ESR never appeared to have any desire to leave and came across as a popular and well-respected player within the squad. The only reason to sell would have been to put the money towards a goalscorer and the fact that that didn't happen makes it all seem even more questionable. Was it really worth selling ESR to get Merino in?A11M11 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 16, 2024 11:39 amThe sale of Smith-Rowe , Edu wanted the money Arteta wanted the player and the squad's spirit was affected by his sale .

From what I have seen so far, I would take ESR over Merino all day long.

It all makes sense now, although since that wankstain edu jumped ship
a number of rumours from various sources are putting ESR's sale as one of the main reasons Arteta & the wankstain didn't speak unless
it was absolutely necessary, with Arteta phoning kroenke Jnr (*) saying it was not what he wanted to happen.
(*) the Kroenkes said we HAD TO sell at least one player and bring in £40mill... who the fuck knows eh?

Checked on Drogon yesterday to see if turkeyDivingCunts v Wales was on... Nothing Doing...okay so managed to find it on S4C and my Welsh isn't what it could be...
BUT
Today SLY are showing the women's games...and the much lauded "Intense Merseyside Battle" between redscousewimmin & the bluescousewimmin IS on, so I took a Quick Look and the fuckin' ground is not even a quarter full...with mummies & their 6yr old daughters screeching their support...
more like a Sunday league game! (If Only!)...
Okay so their hubbies & sons have been given the afternoon off to go out and do their early Crimbo shopping-lifting and rob the houses of those rare few who actually pay for something... but FFS!!! I mean wimmin's football is Utter SHITE!

I think in about 78 or 79 we had about 8 or 9 Oirish lads on the books between North and South.Redarmy wrote: ↑Sun Nov 17, 2024 5:27 pmJust watching the england v ROI game...takes me back to whe they played in the 70s and had around 7 or 8 Arsenal players, not sure as did not look it up...Brady, Stapleton, Devine, oleary, nelson, jennings? mcgoldrick? ....thats just guessing...could have been niall quinn?

My old man was a Gooner from living in London in the late 60's when a Gooner workmate brought him to Highbury instead of another workmate that was a scum fan and was out sick the week he talked about bringing my dad to the swamp. My old man loved Highbury. Then in the 70's when we had all the Oirish lads he made sure my bros and I were raised Gooners as we were living in Australia at the time.

True, but I still think if we play him as a sub he can be really good. But if he's crocked from the interlull then that's that fucked either way.

Fuck me, that was a terrifyingly close call !! A very lucky escape for all of you. Mind you, I'm sure your dad was a man of good taste and with one look at the shit hole and the low IQ, knuckle dragging supporters, would have told his colleague to stick it up his arse.

He's passed away now but of many great memories I'll always have of my dad was the day we signed Bergkamp and he phoned me as I arrived home from work to say "we have just signed Dennis Bergkamp and this is the start of a new era!" He was as excited as I was!
