To get the best out of whoever plays wide left we need another Odegaard that looks that way . I read the other day that 75 % of our attacks go down the right mainly because of the Odegaard / Saka axis and with White overlapping we go that way .
Both Trossard and Martinelli have to hope that Merino settles and looks their way because they are both effective but often they spend long periods watching the ball go right even when they are making runs down the left.

Yep, good point A11. I've noticed it too.

Mind you, I know it's early days, but I wouldn't hold your breath over Merino. Looks bang average at very best.

BBC Sports:

Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Tottenham are monitoring Borussia Dortmund's 20-year-old England Under-21 forward Jamie Gittens.

If the chavScum are involved they'll simply out bid us.

Arsenal are in advanced talks with Real Sociedad's Roberto Olabe to succeed Edu as Gunners sporting director.

Anyone know anything about him?

Al-Hilal are set to rival Arsenal for the signing of Las Palmas' 21-year-old Spain Under-21 winger Alberto Moleiro.

If the arabs are involved we don't stand a chance as they'll just out bid us (again).

To be honest OBG, if a 21 year old is happy to go and play in the Saudi league (and I'm not saying he is), then he isn't the type of bloke we should be signing.

I know mate, I thought the same.... But his choice alone would tell us all we'd need to know.

🚨Arsenal are currently in talks with both Ethan Nwaneri and Bukayo Saka to extend their contracts before the end of the season.

The club want to secure Bukayo Saka’s long-term future, while Ethan Nwaneri is set for a big pay rise after making the step up to the first-team this season.

Mikel Arteta says Arsenal are ready to move in the January transfer market if their injury issues persist.

“The window gives us an opportunity to strengthen the team if we feel that is needed.”
