I’ve long given up on these mid season friendlies and didn’t watch any of it but I guess it will have sent the modern Emirates crowd home happy.

No chance of winning the league whilst we continue to play the first teamers in matches like this but I must say that “mid season European champions 2024/25” has a certain ring to it

No im not saying that at all.
My point is that we don’t need to go all out in the Euro qualifying games these days. It’s a new tournament. We are currently in 3rd place and there are 24 qualifiers. It really doesn’t matter where we come in that 24 because realistically we have little chance of going all the way to the final. If you think otherwise then fair enough.

At this stage we should be focusing all efforts on the PL and trying to stay in contention for that. Play the reserves last night, save the legs of Saka so he might do what he did last night against teams like Fulham away…

The 5-1 in Lisbon, the 3-0 last night. well done, but ultimately meaningless.

Thought the team played well overall - if only everyone's hate target Havertz had started as opposed to Hey-zoos who couldn't score if his life depended on it! What a difference Kai made when he came on compared to that useless Citeh makeweight who should be top of the exit list with Tomyiasu

Big shout out to Lewis-Skelly - to see an 18 year old that composed at both ends of the field was quite something.....and doing it in a patched up defence with Kiwior and Partey......very, very impressive. Lets hope he goes on to have a long successful career with us

We made them look ordinary didn't we. A little 20 minute spell at the start of the second half but Raya still didn't really have any tough saves to make. Couldn't do much more than we did, apart from our non-scoring number 9 managing the odd goal.....but hey ho, he did get that one up at Preston!
