Other Matches Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

They seem to turn up for the big games which doesn't bode well for Sunday :rubchin:
That was exactly my thinking :rubchin: Delighted they took points off those fuckholes :barscarf: But next week with no game midweek for them it will be a lot tighter than a lot of people think.

Lads stop the fucking moaning, the arm was clearly in an unnatural position.

Anyway remember the time we got a penalty for this? Wait what - nothing doing??? Roddaz keeps fucking receipts.

Twice in ten seconds if I remember rightly too. Handballed it there and again as it bounced up. Play on, of course.

They're always up for the games against the dippers and Cheaty because that's all they've got these days. They either get ripped apart earlier on and then just collapse in a shit heap or they stay in the game and try to nick something near the end. They're a less good version of a Martin O'Neil Leicester side from the late 90s.

Liverpool are not all that. Particularly defensively. They do not do well if a side beats the press.

You're correct Perry - just the 2 handballs there. Didn't want to ruin the game to be fair so understandable that it wasn't given.

Alison is still a top keeper and makes difficult saves look routine. Liverpool lose this game without him

That was also the season when they were giving a handball for fucking everything. Then of course didn't give that.

All I will say is that I would love it if they blew up and we steamed in for the Title at the end. :barscarf:

In a Walter Mitty moment I do sometimes imagine a Netflix Limited Series where someone from the North London underworld kidnaps Webb, Oliver, Kavanagh and Gillet and interrogates them until they spill the beans.

One day, someone with far too much money and no fucking connection to the game will expose it all. Anyone inside the game is far too vulnerable and either on the payroll of the fixers or in such debt to them through previous fixes and corrupt activities that they will never say a word. It's happened in every other sport so will be happening in football. Players are too well paid and earning too much to be fixing so the fixers have the refs in their pockets and own them.

Referees are promoted from the lower leagues. It’s quite possible that the PGMOL are controlled or paid and in turn only promote those that they can then influence. There is zero checks and balances in it. They police themselves, which is dangerous.

That the Premier League and their referees have spent the last three decades fighting any form of outside regulation tells you everything you need to know. If you have nothing to hide, you welcome regulation and auditing of any form. The last thing they want is any outside scrutiny because then they won't be able to do what they've been doing for years. There is match-fixing and result manipulating going on inside the Premier League and whereas it was originally happening on the instructions of certain clubs and the broadcasters, it's now being controlled by governments and organised criminal syndicates who have more fucking power than any of us could possibly imagine.

When Fergie croaks it will start to filter out, just like it did when Saville died.
