It might be interesting for people to know that the word used as an insult to Arteta was in effect totally inaccurate as Augie constantly reminds us he is a Basque. The word is and in the time I lived in Catalonia was used as a derogatory term for Hispanic people by the Catalans themselves.

Just saying.

Ive spent a reasonable amount of time in California/San Diego and that word would be exclusive to certain south americans, It'd never be used in relation to anyone from spain be they basque or otherwise.

Its what lets the side down.....if your gonna be racist...comedy or otherwise, you need to do the appropriate research so make sure your slur is appropriate.

Sure you can just edit yer post and take the word out and job done, theres enough pearl clutching and hot flush swooning goes on around here as it is.

I wasnt referring to you in the slightest, but the point stands that in many parts of the world it’s not considered the racist slur that it is in other parts of the world. Understandably and rightly the forum has rules and he should just go delete the word and be done with it.

In Arteta's post match interview(after Spurs) he said the club were going to be active in the transfer market because as he put it "we are down two forward players", this shows the levels of incompetence we are dealing with.
