As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
After today's game I can well and truly be confident that nobody is coming !!
Followed by Havertz picking up a 'knock' in the tin cup game, which turns out to be a season ending injury.
To be honest, were that to happen, then playing any of Martinelli, Trossard or even Nwaneri through the middle would be an upgrade. I'm sure they're every bit as capable of heading wide from 3 yds, scuffing shots from 6 yards, or missing virtual open goals from 12 yards. Oh and mis-hitting 5 yard passes to teammates. I feel sorry for the poor bastard and I know he scored today, but he really is fucking awful and needs replacing.
Not really baffling when we don’t have a Director of Football to actually make the purchases for us. I said all the way along there was no way we were signing anyone this window, as we are going to spend in the summer
Considering the strong rumors are that Edu left because Arteta was given more power as part of his new contract, a stand-in guy is not going to be able to do fuck all. Décisions are probably made by a combination of Arteta and Josh.
No chance we're getting a striker because Arteta only wants Sesko so he'll wait until summer, but then Chelsea will offer 20m more and we'll be scrambling for some unknown pubber, you know it's going to happen!
There is such an extreme level of laziness about how we approach transfers. In over 5 years at the club, Artetas search for a striker led him to get Jesus from City(any google search of his goal scoring record could tell how that would go) and in place of looking for a striker a few years ago, he instead kept Nketiah and gave him 100K a week
His bright idea this month was to bid for Watkins knowing he had no chance of ever signing him.
When the season is over, we'll have missed out on the title again by a few points and it will be down to having a manager who will continuously leave us a few players short of success. Yesterday was brilliant but it papers over the cracks in the sense that when we meet a team who defend properly and are compact, we tend to look clueless because we don't have an option up front
