Saliba will be the first out of the door from this bunch that's for sure. When he goes the Wenger era copycat stuff will be complete as it will then be open season for anyone who fancies tapping up any of our players.

Broke Real Madrid will try and nick him for 50m paid over 4 years and our gormless c.unts will fall for it and waste all of the money on another Merino clone

Honestly it is history repeating itself. Arteta fans have an average age of about 21 so they just can't remember when all this started under Wenger as they were about 6 at the time but the comparisons are uncanny.

Bottle it on the big occasion, tick

Go from playing quick paced physical football to boring snail's pace tip tap, tick

Fail in the transfer window as the right kind of player wasn't available, tick

Divide the fan base, tick

Lack of leadership, tick

No voice above to question or challenge what you're doing, tick

Assemble a huge but imbalanced squad on mega wages, tick

Stubbornly refuse to address the one or two positions that so obviously need filling, tick

Become snarky with the media and start sprouting utter shite post match, tick

So all that remains now, is sell all your best players below market value for the final massive tick
Agree with most of that apart from a huge squad , we certainly haven't got that.
Except it really is and is being covered up by loans - Calafiori, Lewis Skelly, Zinchenko and Tierney all as LB options? Vieira and Nelson almost forgotten but the former cost 40m plus and Nelson was resigned on a 5 year deal. Kiwior, Tomiyasu just pure shite but on big deals. Marquinhos, Tavares and Lokonga all wasteful signings permanently loaned out

It's a squad made to look smaller than it is because he's had to loan out some of the absolute wankers he's accumulated and its imbalanced - 4 left backs (well 5 if you include Tavares) but 2 central strikers

Wenger revisited- pure shite

I wonder who our new Director of Football will be?

Apparently we are after the Real Sociedad guy. Roberto Olabe. Pity it’s too late to have actually signed their jewel in the crown in Isak. Seems to be a connection there. Odegaard, Merino, Tierney, Zubimebdi. Arteta himself. They also have a player called Arsen. A midfielder. Sounds like it could happen. :barscarf:

Personally I think Gabriel is the better defender of the two.

Interesting. I've always rated Gabriel, even when he was getting stick on here. He's definitely been the better of the two of late.

Worth remembering that a centre back partnership is as good as its weakest link. If a guy like Gabriel is playing with a sub standard partner, as he generally was pre Saliba, then it will affect his performance.

I always thought Koscielny was a very good centre back, but he always had a duff partner and questionable full backs, so he was often having to try to cover the entire defensive line. He'd occasionally get stick when in fact, the fault wasn't his,
I reckon calling mustafi a duff partner is complimenting him way way beyond whats due.

By the time saliba and gabriel head for their next clubs figuring legohead for the bluffer he is……we’ll be begging for a mustafi and cygan comeback, can you imagine this classic ringing out

He’s bald, he’s sh*t, he gets a game when no one’s fit, Pascal Cygan, Pascal Cygan”

I've got a guilty secret to own up to.....I didn't mind Cygan and felt a bit sorry for him.

I always thought he was one of those unlucky players, where things would go wrong for him, whereas other players would get away with stuff. Well, either that, or perhaps he was just crap?!

I remember one game at Highbury, can't remember who we were playing, might have been a European match, where a bloke took a highly speculative shot from about fucking 35 yds out. Pascal moved his head to block the shot...very brave...and it glanced off the top of his bald nut and wrong footed the keeper for a goal. I don't think I've ever seen a 30 yard deflection of a pretty average shot, result in a goal. It could only happen to Pascal.

Anyone else remember it?

:D Yep, think you might be right.

Panathinaikos, here you go:

https://www.independent.ie/sport/soccer ... 84501.html

"the perennially hapless Pascal Cygan".

"Perhaps inevitably, given Cygan's mistake-scarred stay at Highbury, Panathinaikos profited from another ill-conceived touch from the French centre-half."

  No wonder I felt sorry for the poor sod.

Another two footed horror challenge from Ugarte. Nothing initially given. A yellow finally came out. This rule that you have to make contact never previously relevant. More fraud.

Mile offside with the linesman looking straight at it. The ghost of whiskey nose lives on at old Trafford
