I'll go out on a limb and say we are going to get dicked to high heaven, and if ive to come back to this thread after we win and eat plates and plates of humble pie then i'll do so gladly but madrid are a team of top class talent and serial winners/shithousers...Vs legohead and the process. My heart will be on Arsenal, every penny i have will be on madrid.

What is it with you fucking people, always so fucking negative. This is the Arsenal you’re talking about, footballing aristocracy, a rich heritage and the envy of the footballing world.

It’s astounding what we have achieved with a spend of only 800 million since 2020 and we have the best young manager in the business, never an oiled hair out of place and his process sure to return rich reward at some future date. Ok, we don’t have a striker worthy of the name at the club and don’t even have an unworthy one fit at the moment and sure, we have bums, stiffs and cast-offs in centre mid, but we’re playing a Spanish side, so let’s not forget the Armada!! I’m sure that a veritable Francis Drake will emerge to sink Real’s ship. Onwards and upwards chaps, CL semi finals here we come.

Wondering how firmly I can get this tongue into my cheek.
So you do yoga as well Retro :rubchin:

In the future when we think back about CL thrashings, these two legs will have replaced the 2 Bayern humiliations. We are going to get literally run off the pitch.

All about opinions but I reckon it will be close, defensively we are solid it's just going forward that will be the factor, still I think we're going through and that's without having had a beer

The reality of life is that we don't really get thrashed anymore, so whilst under Wenger I'd have expected an absolute battering, I can't see one of those 10-2 type debacles now. They aren't amazing at the back either which makes it even more frustrating that we probably don't have the attacking weapons to capitalise as much as we'd like

One thing's for sure is that playing the crowd and the ref over there is a test in itself - the constant theatrics and harassment of the ref has been a core part of Real and Barca for years and I don't expect any favours.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a scoring draw at home (1-1 or 2-2) with a narrow defeat out there, likely 1-0. With an Isak/Gyokeres striker I'd say we'd be poised to beat them over 2 games, but then again with one of those we probably wouldn't be 12 points adrift in the league either and would likely have been 3-0 up against the Chavs in the first 20 minutes yesterday

Only Inter had a better defensive record than us during the group stages. They conceded 1/8 games which is frankly ridiculous. We were 3/8, 2 of which were penalties. Our lack of firepower is obviously going to be a massive problem but not insurmountable

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…..I really don’t think we’re suited to European football,I still think we’re just too naive up against the blatant cheating dark arts European wankers who’ll cheat all game long, and have no shame about it,even the referee’s ref games way differently to the Premiership,I don’t think we’ll get tonked but I can see a VAR decision fucking us,and maybe not having a real forward, and you just know Vini or whatever he’s called will be rolling round most of the game and the ref buying it,and like twats we’ll fall for it,

Oh and Real are loved by everyone so don’t be surprised to see corruption of the highest order at play……while we’ll get absolutely nothing over the 2 legs

This, you can be as critical about Arteta as you like but we have one of the best defences in Europe right now. I don't expect us to get thumped, but you never know in this comp. Both Liverpool and Chelski have won the fucker with mediocre sides.

I posted this on here before and nothing has changed..... I have this weird and continuous "feeling" we might win the CL this season.

That's all it is, a "feeling". Do I actually think we can win it? Everything tells me no, we are not good enough.

But one thing I do think and agree with both SteveO and Nutty on is defensively the days of the CL 10-2 thrashings are over. And to me Arteta must get credit for that.

Which is why it is so frustrating with him as manager. He has brought us 4/5's of the way to being big trophy winners again, but seems incapable of slotting in that final fifth to get us over the line.

Among all my Worries, Fears and Other Negative Thoughts on this... I too have had the EXACT same feeling. I don't know what it is, what it's about and I am not daring to delve deeper, but yes.. I keep getting the exact same feeling that somehow by some miracle it just may happen, against all the odds.
