Fucking unbelievable. Can’t remember the last time I was buzzing like this. What a performance.

The two free kicks from Rice were out of this world. I didn’t think he had that in him, but in fairness, he’s never shown that before. Cracking performance from the whole team, although I was moaning about Merino, who wasn’t playing well imo and then he scores a really good goal. Took it first time and guided it inside the post…no time for the keeper to set himself.

A special mention for Partey, who I’ve been slating for 3 years, demanding he be sold. Best game I’ve seen him have for us. A little slip near the end when he reverted to form and gave the ball away putting us under, but he played really well.

I don’t want to put a negative spin on things, but if we had the striker we all know we need, then it’s 2-0 at half time and probably 5 or 6-0 at the end.

Still, can’t ask for much more than going to Madrid 3-0 up.
Of course he fucking had it in him. The crime was that Odegaard was allowed to take free kicks for so long. I was ridiculed a few games back for asking for RIce to take the free kick in a similar position he hit the wall. That was put right tonight.

Mbappe fucking himself down in the box at the death there. Sneak peak of what awaits us next week.
It will be an unwatchable dive-fest by the Madrid cheats. Pray for a strong refereeing performance.

Where is Augie ?
Of course he has nothing to say as Arsenal have achieved there best result ever at the Emirates.
He has the hump, doesn’t suit his daft agenda.
He has been the secretary of the Fox and Hounds in Cork, which seems to qualify him to critic all things Arsenal.
All these people that post like him are so detached from the people that actually go.
Jesus Christ.

Superfan is back.

Augie has literally been on this thread celebrating a great performance and a historic win.

You literally post nothing on here but digs at a couple of posters. Im telling you now, if that's all you are gonna keep doing, you will end up getting banned. So please, give it a rest. Cheers.

What the fuck is wrong with some of you people?

DB - Why is it nonsense?

I agree 100% with the comments these two posters made.

I also guarantee if Arsenal had lost ( I don’t say we as I don’t put people like Augie as we) he would be all over the board tonight with all his comments.

He has nothing to say as Arsenal won.

Draw on Saturday and he will be all over here.

Anyway, forum housekeeping with the clown squad finished.....  my phone was acting the cùnt with updates throughout so my nerves were shot through watching that without the distraction of this place!

What an amazing night that was. Superb performances all round. Will watch the entire game again tomorrow after work - it was that good.

Finally, just enjoy the win and the occasion lads, no need to be digging people out because they've previously disagreed with you or some such shite.

Finally, finally.... can we win it?

Mate, he's literally on this thread celebrating!

All I'm asking is you make a contribution to the forum beyond digging out augie.

A lot of you owe Mikel an apology. His team just put out one of the best performances in Europe in the history of our football club.

Theres a respect and dignity policy on the forum, Im going to adhere to it here and say no more.
Sorry to bruise your ego, you did mention pub. The world has gone woke and we need to get back to calling people out on their foolishness.

Statistically we are ranked 3rd favourites. What do you say to this or are you going to continue to cling onto your doom and gloom outlook?

It will be interesting to see how this debate ages. Only 8 days to wait.

I'm under no illusion of the task at hand.
I'm not a blind follower or a cultist as DB likes to jab at me from arm's length whilst keeping his head below the parapet.
But I never understand this routine wave of negativity before games. Sure the team has well documented deficiencies but it’s a cup competition and we’ve shown we can compete hence qf berth. Some seem more interested in being proven right than seeing the team thrive
"as DB likes to jab at me from arm's length whilst keeping his head below the parapet"?

:coffeespit:

Not every sweeping comment is about you. Get over yourself ffs.

If you think anything you have to say worries me in the slightest you must be deranged. But I certainly won't stand by while you take a swipe during an argument I'm not part of.

Your record of disingenuous argument on literally dozens of occasions and borderline WUMing on a few occasions on here (as complained about by several posters) is enough for me to ban you under the forum rules any time I want.

I've noticed you've eased off a bit on the disingenuous arguing of late, and I've always given people enough rope to either hang themself or turn it round, but you are literally on your last chance here. If you destroy one more thread by constantly shifting the goal posts of your argument, or posting to provoke a negative reaction, or using any other WUM tactics, as you have done many times previously, you will be gone.

So honestly, think about it, if I was worried in the slightest about you, don't you think I'd have banned you by now? God knows you've given me enough reason.

Note, that last comment you posted (in red) is a WUM comment. And honestly only an idiot would believe that.

You don't get to question the credibility or loyalty of any member on here.

If anything it's you that runs off and stops posting on certain threads after you've been proven completely wrong or been asked a genuine question you cannot answer because you know it kills your argument. There are numerous examples of this all over the forum. You never ever hold your hand up and say "ok sorry I got that one wrong" - unlike the vast majority of posters on here.
I don’t think you’re worried about me, It’s not that serious, but I’ve had you in several knots anytime you’ve tried to debate me directly because of your tendency to see things black and white. When pressed, you revert to the familiar and well rehearsed tactic of labelling people cultists, wums etc, followed by thin veiled threats.
What’s a forum without contrasting views or do you prefer everyone tows the line and joins your ridiculous Arteta out campaign which you invoke at every opportunity.
I’ll continue to speak my mind and call out the negative fans on their bs. If you genuinely think this is wuming, then go ahead and pull the plug. Any perception of easing off is far fetched. I just choose not to engage with certain people because the outcome is predictable.

Just watched the replay. Two of the best free kicks I have ever seen. Brilliant stuff by Rice & our false number 9 scores again !. Thought Party did well also. Should be enough to see us go through to semis. :barscarf: :barscarf:

On my way to work and still on a high. It was a fantastic performance, even at 0-0 the game plan was working, Real did break the line a few times but by and large the speed of Arsenal getting back into shape was impressive. Rice was the obvious MOTM because of the ground he covered and those two magical free kicks. Honourable mentions to Timber , MLS and Partey . Saka worried them a lot too. When Kiwior missed that simple ball in the first minute I thought our worst fears were confirmed, but he grew into the game, admittedly as Real grew out of it.
Merino took his goal brilliantly, however he isn't a striker and I hope his impressive scoring return isn't seen as an answer. I think Arteta also deserves credit for last night, he got it right.
We don't often get nights like that, it was incredible to watch, just enjoy it. It isn't an issue of pessimistic fans being wrong or optimistic fans being proven correct. We are all Arsenal, we have different ways of looking at it. Maybe there is no right or wrong, football is about passion,it is also about debate and opinion, and there is room for all.
Finally the crowd were brilliant, it isn't always the case, but it proves the team.and the support can connect and feed off each other. Fed up of the constant media wankathon over special European nights at other grounds. It was ours last night.

I reckon 75 per cent on here aren't happy with that win, which I predicted btw, at least I didn't change my prediction like steveodid
The thought of Kiwior against their front line before the game nearly killed me to be fair! Fair fucks to the fella for a pretty much faultless display. Think most of us feared the worst when we saw Gabriel limping off the other day as he's been such an important part of the defence when all around him have been dropping like flies

One of those amazing nights last night where just about everything went to plan

Delighted for Dec because unlike some modern pros he seems a thoroughly decent and humble bloke and that was payback and a half to the many who still say he's overpriced and not a big game player. An absolute hero last night !
