I think it was a lot to do with the fact that he was a dirty, diving, nasty little cúnt who got away with a lot that other players would never get away with, especially ours He had that fucking snide little trick of his of deliberately running in front of a defender, stopping and then diving on the floor when he felt the slightest of contact. None of the media ever really highlighted this as they were obsessed with the Leicester 'fairy-tale'. He always came across as a fucking gobby little cúnt and while his constant winding up of the scum did make me smile, the number of times he was diving around, screaming at refs, acting like a twat and generally being nothing more than a bang average one season wonder just got annoying after a while.Retro Gunner wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 9:12 pm
I’ve never quite got the anti Vardy thing on here. We’d have been a better side if he’d joined us and whatever you might think of him, he’s a natural goal scorer.

On this rare of occasions Retro I would have to disagree with you somewhat old chap... He was very much (at the time TOF claimed to have made an offer for him (Note to self add Steptoe to Wenger's 'we nearly signed him' list) ....He was scoring most of his goals from Long Balls and running onto them with admittedly a very decent first touch and with his pace leaving defenders desperately gasping for oxygen... and at that time we weren't doing the 'Long Ball' thing as that was seen as being Rather Uncouth, Unattractive and Very, Very Allardyce-like.Retro Gunner wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 9:12 pm

To be honest Perry, I never thought him worse than the average striker for that type of thing and that didn't stand out for me, but I can't agree with the one season wonder part. He scored goals in a very average to poor side, year in year out.

That's a fair point OBG and I did in fact think the same thing when I was writing the post...that he chased long balls, which wasn't our style. That said, he is a finisher and it would have been interesting to see how he'd have performed with us. Let's be honest, we've hardly had a wealth of decent strikers in recent years (Auba apart, who had something like a goal every 2 games record), so he couldn't have been worse than most we've had.

Not so much a striker, but one of the Best Finishers I've seen was Eduardo ... Till that Absolute Cūnt martin taylor snapped him in half
Oh! Let's Not Forget Sanogo !!!

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
My only worry is that he is so much stronger than the kids he is playing against that it is very easy for him to run passed them as they bounce off him. He doesn’t look to pass the ball either.
Up against someone of equal or bette strength I wonder how he would get on, but hopefully he is another Wilshire or Cesc instead of another Patino.
At 15 he’s a prospect but nothing more.

Nkunku linked again.
FFS sick note chav reject. Decent in his day but not an out and out striker and now sick note.

I hope it’s just media speculation, but they’re all going with it. Surely the supporters won’t tolerate another chav reject? It would never surprise me if Arteta did this.

He didnt cut it at PSG, he excelled in the dog slow German league and then headed to Chelsea where he's not cutting it.the playing mantis wrote: ↑Tue Apr 29, 2025 12:25 pmNkunku linked again.

He really needs a manager who can take him under his wing and turn his career around, I dont know who that manager could be but it sure a fook aint the legoheaded lad in our dugout!! I'll point you to exhibit A: Sterling, Raheem!!
Not saying it will happen but if Arsenal persist with buying rejects its only gonna go one way, someone should release a memo in the transfer office of Arsenal...."if a rival in the premier league is willing to sell us a player, the proposed deal should be rejected under any and all circumstances"
Its a very standard lesson that we as a club seem to never ever learn!
