Zubimendi has now verbally agreed to sign a long term deal… so formal steps must follow soon with Arsenal to trigger €60m clause.

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Arsenal are in advanced talks with Leandro Trossard over a new long-term deal to keep him at the Emirates.
Trossard is due to enter the final year of his contract at Arsenal this summer and the club are keen to sort out his future with a new deal.

Another example of why we are a badly run club - trossard is a decent player dont get me wrong, but he certainly is no world beater that cant be replaced, and if there is interest from saudi league (as is rumoured), then we should cash in and invest the money to upgrade. We are staying loyal and rewarding all these "nice guys" with new contracts and we aint improving and are then stuck with them when no-one wants them next season or season after that

Trossard is a decent enough back up winger and auxilliary forward.
If we are not planning to upgrade the striker, winger and DM position this Summer then we might as well not bother next season.

Beginning to see why? Arteta sold ESR, last 5 times I've seen anything of Jim he has been very poor to say the least.... And he looks overweight & unfit..
Nice lad as we all know, but maybe it was a good decision to off-load him... BUT would take him over the likes of sterling & zinchenko anytime...

The club are also close to signing Joan Garcia as a challenger to David Raya. [@MiguelDelaney]

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Have no issues at all with a new deal for Trossard. He can have dip in form in him, but I'd trust him to pull a goal or an assistout of the bag when needed rather than a couple of other names we could mention.
Partey being potentially renewed is a massive no no though. Need that shit stain out of the club pronto.

Expect any Zubimendi deal to go to the wire on deadline day, as Arsenal will be playing poker hoping to get the deal reduced by £500,000.

I reckon youve a few too many zeros in there, theyll put the deal in jeopardy for a saving of 50 quid plus some dominoes vouchers. We are amateur at very best when it comes to doing business.
Here’s hope the new man at the transfer helm can have a more positive impact
