As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Liverpool* fans: documentary about the Bradford fire on BBC2 now.
You might learn something.
RIP The 56.
They'll watch it and somehow come away with the idea that they were the victims and that it was a conspiracy against them. That or murder 39 Juventus supporters. Both are equally likely and central parts of their club's identity.
The forgotten tragedy of football. Obviously not forgotten in Bradford or by the families of those who died and were injured. When Bradford City reached the League Cup Final some years back they had a badge remembering the 56 on their tracksuit tops..Nothing sensational, just respectful...There was a dignified campaign for justice, which received support from the Stardust campaign in Dublin.
Sadly , and I don't say this flippantly, other football tragedies were not marked with the same dignity as the Bradford fire.
Nobody should go to a football match and not go home, be it in Ibrox, Bradford, Heysel or Hillsborough .

well your still alive so you know you wont have your wallet or ticket nicked!
Truth hurts , anyone that stood on the terraces during that time has more idea than any truth hiding excuse for an inquiry.
I am aware that the match day police commander David Duckenfield was found responsible for the tragedy because he gave the order to open the gates and let the ticket less Scousers in.
However why oh why was it never asked, or if asked , never published why he done that. ?
My understanding is that if the tragedy hadn't happened inside then it may have well happened outside. He may have made a fatal error of judgement, and he has to live with that, but the situation outside must have been explosive.
Mentioned this in the match thread at the time but surprised more wasn’t made of this. They went up the field and scored their first about 40 seconds after it. The same lino who didn’t see this spotted Ben White’s big toe over the line when taking a throw in about 5 minutes later proving that poor vision isn’t permanent
