ALL Transfer talk - merged thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Agree on earlier post about gykores and sesco, gykores looks a genuine class act, sesco is a powder puff striker who isnt exactly a prolific goalscorer and isnt good enough for a plge team with title aspirations!
Raya is a quality goalkeeper! The problem is the instruction to faff about at the back!
Schmicheal smashed it into the heavens and thats what goalkeepers should do! Thats why theyre in goal cos they aint fucking footballers!
Theyre the drummer of the band!
All said and done Arteta not good enough so I hope we have a catastrophic start to next season and leave the club no choice

We'll do the usual and fuck about with the selling club all summer until Sporting Lisbon get fed up. We'll sign Sesko three weeks after the season has started. He will score 5 goals in the league, three of which will be against clubs in the bottom three. Gykores will sign for the Chavs and score 25 or more.

We will also sign whoever becomes surplus at Chelsea once they sign Gyokeres. At 11.59pm on Transfer Deadline Day.

It's almost as if we've seen this whole thing before? Hold on a moment... it does ring a few bells.

No doubt that we’ll end up with some shite cast off that none of us would ever want near the club.

It’s apparently likely that Grealish might be off this year. That’s the cast off I’m expecting us to be heavily linked with in the coming weeks.

Window opens next Monday 2nd June.

Expect - nothing to be done in the first month because 'players will be on holiday and not thinking about their future until they come back'.

Expect - We are trying very hard to improve the team if the right player is available.

Expect - To be linked with everyone and their dog and plenty of media BS.

Expect - Rodrygo, or Gyokeres to drag on all summer long. (there's a song in there :D )

Matheus Cunha's transfer to Manchester United is at an advanced stage as the Wolves forward nears a £62.5m move to Old Trafford.

This is what I don’t understand. Regardless of our personal opinions on Cunha, if Arteta and his backroom team thought that he was the answer back in January, what has changed? Why give Utd a free run at it now?

All this tells me is that our transfer policy is completely lacking in planning and relies on knee jerks responses to each perceived emergency situation. It explains the high number of deadline day signings.

Still, I suppose it only confirms what most of us already knew.

Just because a journalist or journalists write Arsenal are interested in buying a player, it doesn’t make it true.

Most of the stuff written most likely bare no relation to what is actually going on behind the scenes at the club.
