Gyokeres has ridiculous numbers of pens in these stats.

Loads of scruffy goals. The Portuguese League looks like a complete pub league. I’m veering towards Sesko based on this. However I think Sesko is not going to bang straight away. Looks raw and we need someone ready made.

Gyokeres is playing in an inferior keague and he didn't look all that when we played them.

Just sayin' :D
Scored a hat trick against City, this season.

Naturally, each transfer is a risk but we cannot afford to get this one wrong.

I think signing sesko could be the cone boy's downfall (surely some of these stupid decisions have to come against him sometime ?) - if people are not convinced by gyokores then I absolutely understand that, but I am baffled by supporters saying that havertz and jesus are not good enough, and then advocating us to sign a striker (sesko) who is no better at scoring goals than the german dud :? :? :? That to me is a sidewards move and in this case a very expensive sidewards move and that makes no sense.

Agree totally, he scored 13 goals in the league , no better than Harvedtz .

One of the two we have discussed will go to Chelsea with Delap, we willl get Jackson for sure

Yeah there’s a real bang of a goat herders league (which is my biggest concern with him) about a lot of them goals for sure as well as a shit ton of penalties.

All aboard the Benjamin hype train for Big Poppa :barscarf:

2 were penalties though. Now there’s nothing wrong with penalty goals but we were only awarded a penalty in 1 out of the 38 league games this season. Serious banter.

He ain’t getting no penalties here.

Very good point. You can strip out all of his pens. I reckon he would score 15-18 for us. Tops.

Hence why I can accept people opposing signing gyokores if playing in portugese league is an issue or scoring penalties is an issue, but FFS sesko is a 13 or 14 goals a season striker and we have a german c.unt who can do that as it is   If we need a striker from a reputable league then sign joao pedro from brighton, but again I will point to the fact that the portugese ladyboy and dias at citeeh both came to premier league from same portugese pub league and they werent too bad were they ?

Maybe we should push with cheeky bid for kane :rubchin:

I dont say this specifically about Gyokeres but in general about any player we are after, if they choose to join the chavs over us then they are motivated purely by money and we are better off without them. This is not the same chav club as when they were owned by the russian crook and managed by the portugese c.unt - they are a shambles club going nowhere fast, and they dont look like they have a plan or identity at all. Gooners worried about losing out on players to them are being a bit silly imo cos no player serious about their career picks the chavs over us

Not sure I fully agree with that augie. Most footballers, good or bad, are motivated by money, but also where they’ll win things.

It’s all well and good to say that they’re not the team of 10-20 years ago, but their trophy haul has been huge, including CLs and PLs. We’ve won 4 FA Cups.

These young European footballers don’t share our historical knowledge and our sense of heritage. For their generation, Chelsea are a bigger club than us, they’ve grown up seeing them win big prizes, while we’ve had Wenger and Arteta stumbling along.

They may be a shit show at the moment, but we can are hardly some shining example. Fuck me, you and I are always criticising how the club is run.

I’m sick of being shown up by the clubs we’re supposed to be competing with.

Does Sesko do better, in your opinion?

Nunez was prolific for Benfica. A goal a game from memory. I have a distinct feeling Gyokeres is not our man.

Sesko to me looks raw. Will eventually be a top player. Personally I would sign Sesko and Delap. So at least you have options. Two different styles of striker. I really rate Delap.

I don't follow European football but is the choice of Sesko or Gyokeres it?

Is there no one else out there, just these two, who it appears the jury is out on both.

Surely we are searching night and day for super, super qualidee? :rubchin:

Osimhen is there for the taking, but we seem to be ignoring him. He’d be my pick.

Excellent point - people keep pointing to the quality of a league like portugal, but imo none of the leagues are the quality that they used to be, and as you brilliantly point out, werner looked world class in german league but has looked like a donkey in two different premier league clubs
