When you add £300m of prize money to season ticket increases and selling ESR and Nketiah for pure profit last summer. Plus flushing loads of shit off the wage bill. We must be literally swimming in cash. No idea why we are worried about a few £m here and there. Literally mind boggling stupidity.Perryashburtongroves wrote: ↑Fri May 30, 2025 9:41 amWe're not even meeting release clauses. The club are also one of the healthiest clubs in terms of FFP after selling a number of homegrown talents last summer.

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
All I'm left with now, is the belief that we either have no plan or vision for the medium-longer term in terms of transfers and squad building or we have a manager that is incapable of planning a squad or identifying what we need. Either scenario is just as likely and both are fucking worrying in the extreme.Limerick Gooner wrote: ↑Fri May 30, 2025 9:45 amWhen you add £300m of prize money to season ticket increases and selling ESR and Nketiah for pure profit last summer. Madrid now paying Liverpool 10m for Trent? Something absolutely stinks there.

Are we the only non bent club in world football and that is why we are struggling to get anything done? It’s literally the only thing I can think to explain the shit show.

His contract ends at the end of June ,so Liverpool let him leave b4 his contract is up ,so they're entitled to some kind of fee, but as someone said earlier why didn't we do this with Jorginho

Backwards passes galore.
I know next to nothing about this bloke and in the event that we do sign him I don’t want to be unfair and pre judge, but fuck me, I watched 2 1/2 minutes of that video and it was enough.
He looked like the new Denilson and is Arteta’s dream….great pass completion stats with endless 6 yd backwards and sideways passes and pointless possession.
This is what I can’t stand about this obsession with “holding” midfielders. Most of them create nothing and too many don’t even get stuck into challenges (Zubimendi has that look about him). With the likes of Kante and Makalele, they moved the ball forward when they won it and often sparked attacks.
I hope I’m wrong, but that video had “Typical Arteta Signing” stamped all over it. I can also never shake the feeling that a top level player in his mid 20s at the likes of Sociedad, would be snapped up by RM or Barca. It’s exactly what I thought when we signed the liability Partey.

Sesko has missed some absolutely terrible chances. Numerous one on ones blundered and simple chances fluffed.
For me it’s Victor all day long.
Interesting Ralph. I haven’t seen the video, but I’m not surprised, as Sesko was pony at the Euros.
I’ve said before on here that it’s the one on ones and the straightforward chances that tell you if a striker is any good or not, not the spectacular worldy goals. The pressure is on a striker when he has a chance that he is expected to finish. Natural strikers do it with ease. The likes of Havertz fuck up and I’m not sure I’ve ever seen him score a one on one. Giroud was similar.

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
A few days ago, there was already a meeting between the executives Marcel Schäfer and Andrea Berta in London.
It remains unclear whether #Arsenal are able to afford the full package. Discussions are currently ongoing about a possible payment structure. The release clause is set at over €80 million.
Victor #Gyökeres is still high on the list. The current focus is on Sesko.

Absolutely correct, Retro. It's the one on one with the keeper chances that separate the top tier strikers from the rest. Since Henry, we've had probably three tier one goalscorers and that's Sánchez, Aubameyang and Van Perise. The rest have been tier two at best with some complete dross in there like Chamakh, Gervinho and Sanogo wasting chances, money and everyone's time.Retro Gunner wrote: ↑Fri May 30, 2025 10:47 amKingralph wrote: ↑Fri May 30, 2025 6:37 amAll this talk of who we sign out of Sesko and Gyokeres. I know not every stiker plays like Ian Wright or even Kevin Campell, Anelka or Wiltord who you could play in with a keeper to beat and most times expect a goal, but to take any step forward with this team, we've got to get a world class player in.
There is no point going for a player that isn't clinical, that doesn't finish or who needs eight chances a game. We've had years of that and it's shown up time and time again in the big moments when it matters. Sesko might be decent but unless you're a 25+ goals a season player, you're not what we need right now.

Sesko nor Gyokeres are not the answer. Neither of them are good enough.
I would go for Lautaro Martinez.

Yes we all hate the club but getting bent out of shape in may based on click bait twitter is hilarious.
The media have done there work well here all up in arms over potentially nothing! Great trolling
Yes get worked up in a month if nowt has happened. Not now FFS!
The forums depth of self flagellation know no bounds!
As for osimhem probably the best out there but there must be a reason he's banished to turkey and no big teams are interested.
Let's think about that before wetting ourselves, likewise YouTube comps. Pepe looked a world beater remember.
Zubimendi may be shit, but the fact victims were in for him suggest he must have something.
Sesko or gykores probably will be shit. We don't know. Doesn't appear to be much else out there though so again no need to put yourselves on a route to a coronary over either!
Nunez and nkunku and sane is who we will sign! Kill me now!
