Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
I reckon we’ll get Sesko for eye watering money. We’ll get trumped for Zubimendi and end up keeping Partey on a fat new contract. Lokonga will come back as cover for Jorginho. Left wing will end up as a toss up between signing Sane and keeping Reiss Nelson.

The fact we have a leadership group is nothing short of embarrassing, its up there with not having a captain rather a group of captains, ironically the one they call captain is nothing of the sort.
Already the summer is a joke and as usual we'll end up being the punchline with internal solutions, sure look at havertz in training he's been immense.

I bet you five of your English pounds, yes, that's £5 GBP that nothing happens for Arsenal in this first part of the transfer window..
Absolutely fucking disgusted!!

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Wasnt there a story going around today suggesting that sociedad want to delay the zubimendi deal until July for accounting reasons ?
Tbh I'm not bothered either way - I dont know much about him but 5ft 9" is small for a defensive midfielder in english football (yes I am aware that kante was small too), so I wont be gutted if it collapsed anyway
If I'm honest I have minimal interest in this transfer window - I have zero faith in the cone boy when it comes to identifying players as his track record is no better than average imo, and when I see stories suggesting that sesko is who he wants, then it tells me that he isnt getting any better in the market. For years we were linked with quality players that we knew we wouldnt be signing, but now we are being linked with players like sesko and sane and that is stuff of nightmares for me. We will go into next season with the same disappearing captain in the attacking midfielder role, and that alone will cripple this team regardless of what striker we sign. Tbh I am not expecting much from this window anyway so I'm not losing my shit - I see some Gooners have a hard on for nico williams, but is there any fan out there that thinks that zubimendi, sesko and williams will make this team champions next season ?? In my opinion signing zubimendi, eze and gyokeres would lift this team far more than the cone boy's preferred choices, so where is the optimism for next season meant to come from ? There is all this talk about huge transfer budget and huge talk about bringing in quality players to get us over the hump, and yet our 3 supposed main targets are players from sociedad, leipzig and bilbao - hardly buying from the a la carte menu are we ?

This current mini-window was introduced to allow sides competing in the Club World Cup to register new players before the tournament kicks off, but it applies to all Premier League sides, including Arsenal.

Absolutely spot on, Augie. I have no faith at all that in Arteta being able to identify the players we need to improve us and take us to the level we need to be at in order to win the league or Champions League. He's unable to see the problems we have not only with the squad as is, but also with the playing style and the fact for the last year, it hasn't been suitable for the players he has. He won't change style because he either refuses to believe there's an issue or can't even see what's actually right in front of us. In his mind, we were unlucky last season. That worries me because whilst I admit we did have some horrendous decisions go against us numerous times, he didn't do anything to address the glaring hole up front that needed filling for two years before last season even began. If you get unlucky, you get unlucky but being negligent doesn't exactly help.augie wrote: ↑Tue Jun 03, 2025 7:26 pmWasnt there a story going around today suggesting that sociedad want to delay the zubimendi deal until July for accounting reasons ?Tbh I'm not bothered either way - I dont know much about him but 5ft 9" is small for a defensive midfielder in english football (yes I am aware that kante was small too), so I wont be gutted if it collapsed anyway

In terms of the players linked, there's no point getting anyone that isn't banging in 30 or more goals a season. Sesko isn't that player and never will be. He isn't an elite signing. Nico Williams isn't an elite signing. Some fucking bloke from Brentford isn't an elite signing. None of them turn you into Champions of either England or Europe or both. All three of those are Wanker 2009 signings. Bang fucking average players with no experience of winning anything, no titles between any of them and no fucking difference to our mentality or overall quality. We need players who fucking know what it takes to win things, who fucking make that difference in games when it matters. Not more of the same wishy fucking washy mediocre background nobodies. Get fucking Gyokeres if only because he's scored goals and won league titles. That's what we need. Fucking goals, not wide players, not fucking midfielders. It won't happen and we'll be sat here next season, watching the same mind-numbing passing shit week after week lacking the bite and killer instinct in moments when it matters.
Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
We don't need it mate this mini window. Thr "internal market" is open and Lokonga and Nelson will be like new signings as will those eventually returning from injury in January when the next internal window opens too. With Jesus and Tomiyasu added and a couple of cast offs on loan from Chelsea we'll be guaranteed to be right up there competing......
....before flopping again when it matters most and blaming it all on VAR again
Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
augie & perry both highlight exactly what our problem is above ^^.
We have a good team basis that needs to add a few items from the a la carte menu to make us viable contenders.
Isak - they want £150m, ok that's a lot of money but it would solve the striker issue (or it fucking should do).
Victor Osimhen - a cheaper option but a proven goal scorer.

I'm shocked

It will be anarchy in the premier league is citeeh come out unscathed - tbf the geordies (considering their enormous wealth) have not gone a wild spending spree cos of FFP rules, but if those rules now become redundant, we can expect them and maybe the chavs to do as they please

There has to be a reason why Osimhen s in Turkey right ?????Midz wrote: ↑Tue Jun 03, 2025 9:43 pmaugie & perry both highlight exactly what our problem is above ^^.

As for Arteta , aren’t Arsenal in for a defensive mid , a winger (apparently we were looking at Rodrygo) and it is known we are in talks for Sesco and have discussed Viktor G who apparently was offered 6 mill per year and 10 mill signing on fee depending on where you read it ? So I would say that is identifying the main areas .
It’s very frustrating seeing other teams picking up players but I want better than a Brentford right winger and a wolves sort of forward . The deals we are looking at must be huge and no doubt other teams are sniffing around .

You want better than signing players from brentford and wolves, but are ok signing players from sociedad and leipzig ??
