ALL Transfer talk - merged thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

gyokeres to Man utd...Sesko to Arsenal....
If Gyokeres goes to United, despite them having no European football, then you must ask why no other major club (WITHEuropean football) went in for him.

Well maybe, but you could ask the same question about Sesko. Hardly queueing up for him are they?

If this is how it does pan out, then it will be interesting to see how they both perform in the same league. It will keep a spotlight on Lego Head's decision making.

If we sign sesko then I hope one of our rivals does sign gyokeres cos if he does outscore sesko, then the cone boy will have nowhere to hide. There is a high percentage of Gooners who are openly saying that they would prefer gyokeres over sesko, so you know they will be baying for blood if buying sesko backfires

With respect, real madrid already valverde, Tchouaméni and camavinga to play that position in their team, and have a piss poor back 4 so you would imagine that their transfer priorities will focus on positions other than the defensive midfielder position. If I am wrong and they go after zubimendi then I would gladly take any one of their existing 3 midfielders that I listed and would be delighted to do so 8) 8)

Personally I think people are panicing a bit much over the zubimendi transfer - imo it will still happen so I'm not worried just cos he hasnt done a medical yet and hasnt been seen at finsbury park tube station.

I think Zubimendi will happen. Lego Head wants him and yes, he’s another Basque. Looks like he’s another recycle it backwards and sideways merchant. Arteta loves that.

Any answers to my question about putting X posts from private individuals on here?

Please do go ahead

My guess is that the entire leadership group are spending all of their time on Partey’s contract.

I don’t think there is a worse run Club for transfer dealings around. Consistently sell for low fees and get given the runaround and overcharged for targets. It’s pretty clear we are a laughing stock in Club circles and people just don’t bother with us anymore.

That may be right so what could the club do to address this?

Be decisive. Stop talking. And start doing.

Sesko is much more talented than Gyokeres, much more. He's very much in the Isak mould, tall, fast, great balance, good with the ball at his feet, can dribble past players and has a great shot on him. At his age, I would take him any day over Gyokeres, who will be 27 soon and isn't going to get any better and is much more one dimensional.

Ok, here’s the link to X. This bloke’s post is right up there with terms like “Leadership group”.

Some of the comments are good.

Arsenal are in talks to sign highly-rated Genk midfielder Konstantinos Karetsas in a deal that could rise to €45 million including bonuses, according to reports in Greece.

And buying him for big money to leave him on loan there for 25/26. Are we deliberately avoiding building a squad for today? Always jam tomorrow.

That "one dimension" is goal scoring - having a one trick pony is far better if that one trick is scoring goals regularly, than having a guy who can do a few things well but has average scoring stats

Nothing wrong with having 2 attackers sesko 10 and gorky 9. like (but in no way as good as) Wright and Bergkamp

Could the unveiling of the 2 strikers be as exciting as the hartson kiwomya reveal??
