ALL Transfer talk - merged thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Here's 1 to get the heart racing

🚨🔴⚪️ Former Juventus Head of Scouting and Granada director Matteo Tognozzi, currently in advanced talks to sign at Arsenal.

He’d be part of the team working under Andrea Berta.
Maybe they can help us finally make a decision on which one of the two bang average strikers we are gonna waste money on this summer

Ok, here’s the link to X. This bloke’s post is right up there with terms like “Leadership group”.

Some of the comments are good.

Got a virus now!

Can you quote the comments, the only one I liked was the cat tunnel advert!!

I'm not surprised you've got a virus....how many times have you been told to stay away from those all night gay parties??

Yeah, loads of comments on there and all you have to do is scroll down them, but don't worry, I'll pick about 30 out and type them up on here, just to save your scrolling finger. I mean, why wouldn't I?

You know Dec, I have done X (Twitter), for the last 5 or 6 years I suppose, but I don't know if you can see comments without an account.

I'm sure Mc will know, he's Mr. X after all. :)

Have you read the post, which is in about 3 stages. It sums up exactly what is wrong with our fan base. Would be intellectuals, with fuck all idea about the game, trying to rationalise the limp and dysfunctional Arsenal transfer strategy into something cunning and meaningful. In truth, it's been directionless, sub-optimal and almost entirely ineffectual for two decades.

You need an account for X,once you've set up an account you search for who you would like to follow, I started with sports journalists for the obvious reasons and then extended it to follow friends and obviously anyone who follows Arsenal
Once you start following someone, any comments/posts they make ,you can see them, and if they haven't put restrictions on who can reply, then you can comment on their posts.

I tend to follow people with similar interests, similar thinking.

Rodrygo heavily linked a d kept as back up keeper as has 5m release

Tbh I'd take him for 5m and not silly wages. He's a sound keeper.

If we signed rodrygo on paper that's huge...statement signings but have 0 confidence in that happening.

Rodrygo, zubi, sesko or gykores and a back up keeper would be a good window imo. On paper.

In reality I think we either sign a big bucks left wing or a big bucks striker.

Not both

Just hope we don't sign sane or Summerville or something other no mark.

Would take Morgan Rogers. *word censored* though he is.

Morgan Rogers would be a fantastic signing, I'd much rather we signed him than Rodrygo who I think would struggle in the PL.

A good window for me would be
Sesko, Rogers, Semenyo, Zubimendi, a LB as cover (assuming we sell Zinchenko.....please! and Kiwior) and a backup keeper.
Not going to happen, I know!

If we signed Semenyo, what position are you signing rodgers for ? Personally I dont think he is a winger anyway, but at the price being rumoured for rodgers, surely eze (who will be available) would make better sense and around same price ?
Personally I would like us to sign rodrygo - I'm not sure if that is cos I am convinced he will be a star for us (I do think he is quality), or if it is cos I dont want us buying nico williams for the type of money that it is being suggested it would cost. I also think we need a statement signing as much as anything else - of course the statement signing would have to fit in with our plan, but when a club talks the talk about being a big club with big ambitions, then you need to make at least one signing that backs up that talk, and with all due respect, signing players from sociedad, leipzig and that level of clubs doesnt scream we are a big club

🚨 Breaking - Gabriel Magalhaes signs new Arsenal contract until 2029 - @Football_LDN

- Turned down other interest to stay at the club
- Four-year deal with no option keeping the Brazilian until he is 31
- Berta involved and is progressing other moves

Give him the captain's armband
