Heysel 40 years on.
I accept this thread will be merged , but it is worth remembering that 40 years ago today 39 people went to a football match and didn't go home.
The reasons why that happened while well known are rarely discussed in public.
I remember watching it unfold on TV, the despair on the faces of the Italians as the horror and enormity of it hit them.
Then the surreal image of two football teams walking onto a football pitch to play a game while the commentator was saying there were dead bodies under the stands. A cup presentation that should have been joyous but can never be.
The President of Juventus saying as the team touched down in Turin the following day.
" We wanted this cup so badly but now it is filled with blood"...
One if the darkest days in football history.

Well Done Brady ... Yes, I too remember seeing the images on TV at the time, it was unreal like a Nightmare come true.
As you Rightly say We All Know Why & How it Happened and Who the Guilty Parties are but were never brought to Justice. Also they Never Admitted any Wrongdoing or Blame.
I also remember when the 2 teams met in European Qtr Finals? (I think) 2004 or 2005 and the Juve Fans Turning Their Backs when the ScouseFilth fans held up a banner saying something like Strength and peace through unity ? And then held up numerous banners of their own saying "We will never forget" and others with all the names of those killed.

Justice for the 39. Hope those responsible and those who have helped them evade justice by hiding them in their communities for the last forty years feel ashamed of themselves on a daily basis.
Re: Heysel 40 years on.
We actually saw faces didnt we !!!! and it was Liverpool fans too that caused the crush . i still have my own thoughts on Hillsborough too , never their fault is it.
Re: Heysel 40 years on.
I watched it in a bar in Spain and the reaction of the other nationalities towards my wife and I was severely embarrassing . We had to leave because of the atmosphere .
Must remember though , never their fault.

I watched it with some mates and being filled with hatred towards English football fans, it was a time when hooliganism was at it's height!
I remember going home after the game and being really offensive to my father, who was English, and the nicest, caring loving father anyone could have, it still breaks my heart that I was horrible that evening!
It's one of the reasons I hate those c u n t s more than any other club!
But hey! They've put a commemorative plaque up! So least said sooner mended!

the media in uk totally ignore this tragedy....utter disgrace....
Re: Heysel 40 years on.
I just dug out this gem from The Guardian, the day after the two teams met again at anfield!
They really are unbelievable !
Anfield's chief executive Rick Parry, speaking before a match between supporters at Liverpool's academy, struck the tone for the day. "We are all sorry about what happened that night. We very much regret what happened. I hope we can all forgive and forget and move on. We have tried to ensure that the whole day is a day of friendship, an opportunity to move on together."
Forgive and forget and move on, what an utter c u n t

Spend decades screaming about wanting justice when it suits them, about demanding inquiries and sending death threats to the police and politicians but of course, want to forgive and forget what their cûnt supporters did at Heysel. Absolute fucking cûnts. Always have been and always will be.Sid33 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 07, 2025 9:20 amI just dug out this gem from The Guardian, the day after the two teams met again at anfield!
