Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
With all the debate going on amongst the fans over whether we should buy gyokeres or sesko in recent weeks, you see a few foolish comments suggesting that we should buy both - are we a state backed club now all of a sudden ?? However what we should consider doing is buying one of them AND signing Jonathan David on a free transfer from lille - he is a canadian striker that his been linked with several big clubs in last two years and he scored 16 league goals in the season just finished. We cant afford to splash cash to buy two strikers imo, but we surely can buy one and sign one on a free transfer, and especially when we are talking about the need for a deeper squad, and the fact that we have cut a lot of wages from the squad last week, would surely give us some latitude there ?
Like I said already, I'm not sold on any of the strikers we are linked with, and I'm especially not sold on sesko, so to me it is prudent to have a Plan B in the strikers department

Arsenal have held talks with West Ham over Mohammed Kudus
The Ghanaian wants European football and could leave despite his £80m release clause. Arsenal hope to strike a deal around €55–60m.
Kudus is on Arteta’s shortlist of attacking targets. #AFC #Transfers

David would be a good option, on a free, in addition to a signing.augie wrote: ↑Mon Jun 09, 2025 11:22 amWith all the debate going on amongst the fans over whether we should buy gyokeres or sesko in recent weeks, you see a few foolish comments suggesting that we should buy both - are we a state backed club now all of a sudden ?? I’d test the Villa waters for Watkins, though; even if we got Sesko. A deal under £45m would be beneficial for all around, given how much Villa appear to have needed that CL money they missed out on,

I have on many occasions questioned the way we have pissed away so much money on transfers (inc signing on fee's) in recent seasons, and especially on players that the cone boy bins within 12-18 months, and I cant help thinking that we are not learning any lessons here - if zubimendi was a big physically powerful midfielder a la PV4 then I could understand why we would shell out big money on him rather than play lewis-skelly in there, but the reality is that lewis-skelly and zubimendi are similar in stature and we are shelling out big money when we have a homegrown option already in the club and I question if that is wasting money

The two clubs following Garnacho’s situation:
Chelsea
Arsenal
In that order.
This sounds more like us.

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
So the transfer window closes tomorrow for 5 days and then reopens again.
What fucking point is there in that?

FFs - is the chuckle brothers running our scouting department these days ?? I seen a story online yesterday where one of our academy scouts was jailed for robbery at 15 and was a dealer after that (https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/35311898 ... on-rapper/) and I'm asking if he is supplying alln our scouts with drugs if that over-rated argentinian cock is the best they can come up with

Understand as per reports in Spain, Real Madrid are indeed attempting to convince Martin Zubimendi to join them over Arsenal - @Football_LDN
The Gunners have had long term confidence the Spaniard would be joining them this summer.

A Very Decent Player... Thing is it depends on not only who we can convince to join us, but who and how much we can afford...Arsenal Till I Die wrote: ↑Mon Jun 09, 2025 11:25 amArsenal have held talks with West Ham over Mohammed Kudus

But I would be happy to see him our Red & White... maybe Decca's can 'Ave a word' with him.

Martin Zubimendi -
The player will join Arsenal Football Club.
All the relevant paperwork has been exchanged to complete this transfer. This includes very sensitive legal binding agreements which is standard occupational practice.
There is a tripartite agreement between Arsenal, Real Sociedad and Martin Zubimendi. Once the Spaniard completes his medical successfully God willing, he will be unveiled.
Now as clear as mud
My simple philosophy is until you see them on Arsenal.com wearing the shirt ,dont be getting worked up ,as long as any new signings are with us for the start of preseason I won't lose my shit till then

If Real coming knocking would you move / stay at Arsenal? Seriously I wouldn’t . A lot of it simply comes down to money .
