Until I hear Arteta mention the internal transfer market then he'll never be able to be mentioned in the same breath as the great man
Absolutely McD !

Just a pup in training. Until he says he would give 100m back to the owner, and searches night and day only for top, top, super quality he can't hold a candle to our hero

Well, it hasn’t been a complete disaster of a transfer window after all. Sane isn’t signing for us, thank god! 🙏

A complete total utter catastrophe of a summer transfer window without a single solitary signing

I was expecting signings the moment the window opened

5th place finish I think behind Liverpool City Chelsea and whoever buys gyokores :x
Why, we never do that. We speculate, pontificate and send out tentative, lowball bids that immediately get rejected. As we dawdle along eyeing these key players we'll pick up 2 unknowns, a left back and a keeper, one for 10m, the other on a free. Then as the window draws to a close, the guy we were originally after has been sold to a rival or his asking price has gone from 70m to over 100. In the end, they'll re-sell Havertz to us fans..........

With the placating club statement......The fans forget, just before his injury he was on target to score......he can slot in anywhere.......he needs to be given another full season up front so the fans can see what we see....... :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah:
Apparently havertz looking a incredible in training..... :rubchin:

Probably a few weeks away from the "No players available that can improve us" line.

It just dawned on me there a few mins ago that, with all the talk about incoming transfers, everything has gone quiet about selling any players - tbf what jogged my awareness was a piece in the metro online suggesting that zinchenko's potential move to ac milan (first I heard of it) has run into trouble cos of his wages. We are back where we were with the french cock a few years ago - loads of players that we would love to offload but who are on too much money for any interested clubs to take on, so what happens is that we end up selling them for a mars bar and a pack of peanuts  Some fans lauded our transfer windows (not last season) under the cone boy and edu, but the reality is that we bought A LOT of players who didnt last 18 months in the club, and then a lot of the rest either have already left on free transfers or are going to leave on free transfers cos that is the only way we are moving them on. That is not good business

your not valuing zinchenko that highly surely, at best maybe the Aldi version of a mars bar.....possibly some pre digested peanuts.

I suppose that's just the nature of the beast that is the PL Augie, average players in this league will be paid more than the best players in other leagues. A rising tide lifts all boats.

The only place you will earn more money than here is Saudi and that's due to tax (or lack of).

I get that, but if the player we were looking to sell was a good/decent player then another premier league club might be interested in buying him, and while player might have to take a small pay cut, it mightnt be massive - the reality is that clubs in premier league know that the shite we are trying to offload are not worth buying, and that leaves us trying to sell to a less affluent league where both AFC and the players will have to accept less money, and of course that means we will have to pay off the player which means less money coming in

Tbf it isnt just us that are in this bind - for all the positive and pro-active work that the victms are doing in recruitment, everything seems to be quiet there as regards departures. There was talk of nunez going and jota too, but all that talk seems to have disappeared quicker than our captain ( ), and citeeh have been very pro active in buying but nothing happening as regards moving players on

The bit about city being busy, obviously they need players early for the world club cup so that explains some of it,but I'm also wondering is that they might be planning for a possible transfer embargto (once the verdict of the 115 charges is known).

It’s going to fucking mental on here when, come deadline day, all we’ve mustered is Jack Grealish on loan and coaxing Glenn Murray out of retirement.

Good point McD - we would all love to see it happening, but likewise we are all sceptical of the premier league having the balls to do it, so this could be some sort of compromise where they are delaying announcing it to give citeeh time to stockpile players

Another left back could be incoming

https://www.msn.com/en-ie/sports/footba ... e81e&ei=15

Tbf I would be on board with this as a young player very highly rated and we could move lewis-skelly into midfield, and use the zubimendi money to bring in eze 8)
