As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Those fixtures take us to the end of September and unless we make some very significant signings this summer, then 7 points from 18 looks very possible.
Arteta could be under real pressure come October. Still, who am I trying to kid, he'll likely be under no more pressure than the Old Fraud was in 2012.
You cant blame Arteta for the fixture list and neither would the board.
I dont even know wtf that is meant to mean Are we playing any teams in those first 6 games that we werent expecting ton play next season ? Are we playing any teams that our rivals dont have to play home and away next season ? No, then wtf is there to blame the fixture list for even ?? We all play the same teams home and away - if we are not prepared properly and leave our buying until late, then absolutely the cone boy AND the board deserve to be blamed
You (and others) actually contradict yourselves the further this thread go - you start off by criticising the opening fixtures cos we are playing the so called big clubs away, and then you go on to defend the cone boy by pointing out his record against these "big teams" - so shouldnt you be delighted with the opening fixtures then ??
Another way of looking at it is that it is at the end of the season when not all teams will be trying. We have a pretty cushy finish against teams who are likely to be coasting in mid-table safety like Fulham and Palace. We are also at home to Burnley, who are very likely to be holed beyond the waterline by then.
Historically, the worst time to play newly-promoted teams is in the first two or three weeks so I would rather play Burnley at the end than the very beginning of the season. I am old enough to remember us losing our first home game to Bristol City (Supermac's debut) and a few years before that to Carlisle who went top of the league early doors, then ended up being relegated.

Not bothered about when we play certain teams - I’m more annoyed about the fact that Boxing Day and New Years Day matches have been scrapped, although there might be one or two shown for TV.

The people complaining about us getting screwed with opening fixtures are the same one's defending the cone boy and pointing out about his record against the top 6 teams, and when it was pointed out to them that they should be delighted then the way the fixtures came out, they went strangely quiet

Exactly Bob. I was thinking the same thing.
Newly promoted teams get found out after 6-7 weeks, they realise it’s not a cakewalk and their bluster has died down a bit, whereas Liverpool and City might not have hit their stride yet early on,either way it is what it is,I’m sure Arteta will have Havertz and Jesus fit and raring to go
