As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Kepa Arrizabalaga has officially signed his contract for Arsenal Football Club.
The Spaniard is the second official signing of the transfer window. All paperwork complete.
@FabrizioRomano
Until a signing is announced then it isnt official in my book - to my knowledge we havent made one official announcement so kepa cant be the second signing
Brentford midfielder is okay deal at that price, but anything over that for a 31 year old would be a big no no from me
I've been meaning to post this for a while and xgtdec's post above has prompted me. I don't share the dislike for Liverpool that most on here seem to have, especially if you look at the club rather than the supporters. They have heritage, have been massively successful and haven't been bankrolled in the manner of Chelsea and City. They've built a club organically, just as we have and I'd suggest that of the big northern clubs, they're the outfit that most mirror the Arsenal. There has always been respect between our two clubs and there always was between the supporters, even if less so now.
Anyway, I've always noticed that they complete their transfers quietly, quickly and efficiently and very rarely with all the drawn out "will he won't he" bollocks that we go through every single time. They get the transfers done early and it gives them all pre season to bed the player in ready for the league to kick off. They also don't seem to suffer from anywhere near the same level of gazumping from other clubs that we seem to get.
Is it because they don't low ball on fees and make realistic and acceptable bids to get the deal done. Is it because they make the player feel wanted, whereas our targets must get pissed off and wonder if we really want them, due to all our penny pinching and to-ing and fro-ing? Does that same pissed off feeling settle on the selling club who get frustrated by our non committal approach? I imagine it's all of these things and probably more.
I'm pretty much back to the Wenger days of finding it hard to care. We've been through it all before, for far too long and I no longer have the inclination, or patience to let it drive me mad again. We're going nowhere...wrong owners and wrong manager and I'll watch the car crash as dispassionately as possible. I'll always love this club, but fuck those owning and running it.

Where are we keeping these new signings? I don’t believe we've actually got them. Wouldn't surprise me if tomorrow they claim we've signed Mpabbe and Bellingham but we can't announce them yet. It all seems a bit like the lies a kid tells you at primary school about owning a monkey and riding a motor bike but when you go round their house the motorbike and monkey are always at their cousin's house or with their older brother at university or some other bollocks.
