I maybe a tad over dramatic  but Sesko looks like a donkey, to me. If we do sign him, I want him to prove me wrong.

Re Leao, I know there’s a lot that can be said (apparently, I don’t want Italian football) for his lack of defensive work as a winger, but boy does he look silky on the ball. Upgrade from Martinelli who runs with his head down.

Again, I know compactions aren’t an accurate measure.
Again I will point to the fact that NO OTHER TOP CLUB (either here or in europe) seems to be interested in signing sesko, but big clubs are lining up to sign gyokeres. The latest club linked to the swede is the victims, and credit where credit is due, they are not hanging about and are getting their signings in the door early, so IF we do want gyokeres we need to move our arses or else he'll be in scouseland by end of the week and ringing verizon to upgrade his house security
“Gyokeres just followed a London guard dog service on IG. Same one Raya and Ben White follow. Ozil, Kolasinac, and Nelson all used it too.” - source

We’re back in the game, Augie my old son! :barscarf: Biggus Vikkus is coming.

I seem to remember Kolasinac taking care of his own security.

I wouldn't have fancied a right hander off him tbh.

🚨 BREAKING from @Buchi_Laba:

The problem in the Sesko deal has never been the player but instead RB Leipzig who's requesting too much money!

Sesko NEVER TOLD Arsenal to insert a RC or asked for outrageous wages, this is FAKE NEWS.

Arsenal have a backup option if Leipzig don’t want to play ball. They want this deal concluded latest next week. 🇸🇮 ⏳

Can someone contact sesko and tell him that we have seen the clip of those horrendous misses, and it's now a case of "dont call us, we'll call you"
Not defending him as I know nothing of the player but we all scorn at the you tube collection of potential signings looking world class so it's also easy to create the opposite of any player , you can't have it both ways.

Hmmm, not sure you can apply that argument to the same extent in reverse. There were a great many awful misses in that catalogue and that's a potent message. It's the one on ones and the chances that a striker ought to put away that tell you a lot. The worldies aren't the goals to judge a player on, because there's no pressure when hitting a 30 yd screamer. We'll happily welcome a bloke scoring spectacular goals, as long as he finishes the chances where he's expected to score. That's when the pressure is on.

The taps in are key for me. A top striker scores them like muscle memory.

Even Merse knew back in the day that a top forward is not judged by the screamers from 30 yards. I recall him having smoke blown up his ass by some journo saying "oooh Paul you score some great screamers" and Merse responding "I would trade every screamer for ten tap ins"

--- or something to that extent. 8)

Makes me laugh if people judge a player by any compilation video! It would be easy to put together a lengthy clip of horrendous Titi Henry misses over the years and he turned out alright!!

Norgaard is a very sensible signing, I like it. Experienced, bit of a nasty bastard, does score goals and assists, a leader and a great option to stop Declan or Zubi having to play every game. Bloody good price too! Arsenals cheap signings look good, can the expensive ones look the same I wonder?? :rubchin:

This Norgaard signing has been done in the right way too. No dilly dallying, no rumours just a quick announcement Arsenal have put a bid in and bang! it's done.

Why oh why can't they all be like this?

I know I can be a miserable bastard Midz, but they're not all 31 year old Brentford midfielders that no other club at our level is interested in.

I'm not knocking it, he's a useful squad addition, but I'm not putting the bunting out either.

Presumably, the back-up option is 'not buying a striker.' That or another goalkeeper. Either is entirely plausible.

Tut tut Perry, you've forgotten the left back option.

Benjamin is going to bang bang with us next season. I’ll stake my fucking considerable forum reputation on it. Bookmark this and get back to me.

He will make shit of this league with the amount of chances we create :barscarf:

If you've been following the Arsenal for more than 40 years which a multitude of the members on here have, you have a right to feel frustrated at the way we conduct our business, and have every right to moan about it now & again. That doesn't make you a miserable so n so it's the way most of us feel too.
Norgaard isn't the statement of intent that we all wish for but he's a useful player despite his age.
Look at it this way - Jorghinio, Partey or Norgaard who would you prefer? :D

Stop asking rhetorical questions.

Yes, he's a useful addition for the price, but as you say, looking for the statement signing, although I ought to know better.

Sadly, well over 40 years....it takes a long a long time to get this cynically resigned.  :barscarf:
