For every donkey video, there is also a highlight reel

Not bad play I would say. He probably won't get the same amount of time on the ball in the PL but he still has the skill

I don't think anyone would object to Eze signing would they? Great player, can play anywhere in midfield really. Get it done!! :barscarf:

No objection, unless it prevents us signing a winger or striker.

However it feels like a signing we should have made 2yrs ago, he's just turned 27, it feels a bit late now.

I’d take Eze over Rodrygo, on the left, personally.

Too late now I know, but personally I wouldnt have bought zubimendi cos I would have pushed lewis-skelly into midfield, and gone heavy for rodrygo for left wing and eze for the 10 and then a top striker and our starting 11 would be set imo. I am still a martinelli fan and dont want him sold (cos I fear he will excel elsewhere and show us up), but by same token I wouldnt be against signing rodrygo to take his place as long as we have upgraded the 10 position first
Who would be your left back whos better than Lewis?

I never suggested that anyone is "better" than lewis-skelly - the kid is a natural midfielder and was throughout his progression in the academy, and I for one would like him to get a chance there. Size and stature wise he is similar to zubimendi, but he knows the league already and I love the way he tries to be positive and drive forward or pass forward when he gets the ball - the last thing we need is another sidewards slow passer in there.

Re your who would I play left back then question, I have two possibilities - I like calafiori and think he can absolutely do the job there, but failing that I would contact fulham and over zinchenko plus some cash for robinson. Again he has pace and drives forward aggressively when he has the ball, and cos fulham want zinchenko it opens up the possibility of a deal that doesnt see us shelling out much money

Like I said already, it is all moot now if as expected zubimendi joins us, but financially it made much more sense for us to push lewis skelly into midfield and buy more attacking players (our weakness) than spending close to £100m on two defensive midfielders (zubimendi and brentford guy). Like I have said previously, when you have a few holes to fill in your team and squad you have to be shrewd when you make your deals - I dont think we have been

Zubimendi's release clause was £60m but apparently we are paying more cos we doing it in installments
Nordergard started off at £9m but all the talk now is that the deal will be around £15m
neither of those figures includes wages and signing on fee's, so all in we are talking above £100m and I just think that when we operating with a restricted budget, we need to prioritise positions that are higher need. If 2 months ago the Gooner fanbase we told that by the first week in July we would have signed FOUR players, but NONE of them would be a striker, the fanbase would have gone into an absolute meltdown   Really when you look at it, of all the positions of highest need (striker, attacking midfielder and left winger), we have fixed or upgrade none of them and will have spent close to £150m and that is comical imo - I said all along I wouldnt have given the c.unt a tenner to spend this summer cos I have zero faith in him spending it wisely, and nothing I have seen so far has changed my mind

🚨 BREAKING from @SERDepValencia:

Valencia has rejected an offer from Arsenal for Cristian Mosquera.

The offer presented by Arsenal FALLS SHORT of €19M asking price.

Valencia has opposed the sale of the player because its intention remains to renew him! 🇪🇸 ⏳

🚨 @Daily_Express:

PL clubs will be able to operate with GREATER FINANCIAL FREEDOM from the start of next month. PSR has FORCED MANY to keep their spending reined in until June 30 which is the year end.

Once that has been and gone, the transfer floodgates could open again! 🤑

As augie says, we’re starting to sign players and none of them are the striker we desperately need.

I’ll say it again…he has no intention of ousting Havertz from the side. The most we’ll get is a player to rotate with him.

Hope I’m wrong, we’ll see.

We are clearly trying to sign a striker. I don't think that can be argued.

However whether it's the right one is a another colored horse to be abused by tranny dwarves on stepladders, completely, and one that only time will tell I suspect.

And if that striker ousys havertz. Again a different argument.

Unless of course we believe it's all smoke and mirrors and the rumors are dropped by the club to make us hope. I'm not that cynical.

And I also don't think we should have our pants pulled down on one either, at least this early stage. If nothing by mid July then panic

Closest we'll get to signing a striker is an attacking midfielder who could score 10 goals a season maximum and who Arteta thinks he can turn into a goalscorer.
In about a week's time, we'll hear all the usual shit about it being prime holiday time for players and nothing can happen until pre-season starts. Then it will be, that it's a difficult time to sign players because clubs have just started to get their players back after the break and need to take stock of their squads. After that, it will be about how clubs are focusing on the start of their seasons and that the window is open until the end of August. Next, it will be that we're focusing on the start of the season and don't need distractions. And finally, at ten to midnight on 31st August, it will be Dominic Calvert Lewin, a Spanish journeyman or someone from Brighton on loan for a season.
