Why are we bumbliing about waiting to see if Gykores or Sesko will bite, or considering Nicolas bloody Jackson, when we could make a decisive move for a better striker with consistently impressive numbers in France, Italy and international football, as well as his most recent season on loan in Turkey?

Victor Osimhen's numbers are consistently so impressive. We could get him for about 64 million. Yes, his wages wouldn't be cheap but for goodness sake we paid 70 million for Pepe and 65 for Havertz.

The season before the choppers signed Isak he scored 6 goals in La Liga. SIX fucking goals. There’s probably a you tube compilation of his chances that season that would make interesting viewing.

He was raw as fuck but the potential was there (we were linked with him at the time supposedly) but he immediately exploded at Newcastle.10 league goals in just 22 games in his first season, 21 in his second and 23 last year.

No doubt there’s an element of risk in whatever striker we sign, Sesko has 43 league goals in his last 3 seasons with Liepzig (Isak got 33 in his last 3 at Sociedad for comparison) while Gykores scores for fun in a vastly inferior league, a crazy number of penalties too which he won’t have the luxury of here. West Ham away was the only league game we got a penalty in last season

So you look at both and think - can Gykores continue to score for fun after making the step up or can Sesko come in and bang like Isak did at the choppers.

I’d roll the dice on Sesko if I controlled the cash, I just see something in him that makes me think he could do some serious damage up top in this team. We wait and see.

The huge fundamental difference in my book is that the geordies were in early stages and could buy a player to develop - we need a striker that comes in banging them in from day one, and imo sesko is not that player yet, and we are only taking a chance that HE MIGHT be that player someday

Agree wil that Augie.....Sesko from what we have seen so far is not the prolific goalscorer we need....Osimhen is proven and Gykores record is impressive....also remember him getting a hat trick at City

Viktor Gyökeres has received permission to postpone his return to the pre-season to July 7, as Arsenal intensifies negotiations with Sporting.

The player wants to join the Gunners.

BILD is reporting that Leipzig are willing to accept €70m for Benjamin Sesko: the fee #Arsenal always wanted. What’s interesting is the timing. Players are starting to return from holidays, many clubs have their new financial years starting on the 1st July and deals are moving.

If this was 2 or 3 seasons ago I could accept the idea of buying a striker to develop, but would you not agree that we need a striker who is ready to fire NOW ? The best hope we have of keeping the likes of saliba and saka is to win trophies now, and I really cannot see saliba or saka staying with his if we have another season or two without success

That's probably why no-one is going for him, he has the talent but carries more baggage than Katie Price going on her 15th holiday of the year!!
