Partey Charged

I hate being in position of having to defend the cone boy, but bashing him for playing partey when no charges had been filed is ridiculous imo - in most civilised countries (bar trumps america ) there is a presumption of innocent until proven guilty, so how can the club legally punish an employee before the courts have even charged him ? He is no longer our player and no longer our concern thank god - I dont give a fcuk if they lock him up and throw away the key, or if they execute the gun in the middle of london cos he is no longer our issue

I agree on the selection of Partey since these stories emerged. He wasn't charged at that time and therefore it could be seen.as a presumption of guilt by Arsenal not to play him. A lawyer would use that in his defence, as in he couldn't get a fair trial as presumptions of guilt were already out there.

This is true. We shouldn't assume guilt. The guy at City (was it Mendy?) had a rape charge sheet as long as your arm and if memory serves, he was acquitted.

Mendy was also kept in prison while awaiting charges and lost his livelihood.A shocking miscarriage of justice.

All this shows is how poor the CPS is. Lack of solid evidence for 2.5 years and then they charge him once they know he is going to leave the UK to play elsewhere.

Those clowns on social media saying Arsenal should have suspended him when under investigation only. So any allegation being looked at by the police requires an instant suspension? We would in theory have had to pay the guy full wages for 2.5 years for nothing? Don’t make me laugh.

Why has the CPS suddenly got the evidence they need? They haven’t, have they? Quite simply they have shit the bed knowing he is due to play in Saudi Arabia or Turkey and want to have a pop at a high profile player now he is out of contract.

Logically would Arsenal risk the commercial backlash from sponsors if they played a player they knew was going to be charged with rape? I don't think so.
Obviously they knew the rumours, but without formal charges would they sack or suspend a player based on what was Chinese whispers and social media comments. ? Again I don't think so.
The timing of the charges are incredible in terms of his contract running out. However he is still entitled to a presumption of innocence until proven otherwise. I'm only guessing this, but is there sn element of fear among the CPS that if they don't charge him now then they may never get the chance to?
