The main reason Nwaneri is refusing to sign a new contract is because he wants guaranteed game time and a path to being first team first choice player. How does signing Madueke help that negotiation? It doesn’t does it? Madueke is Nwaneri’s replacement.
I just can’t blame him for that, if you’re young and clearly quite capable and you see sterling getting game time ahead of you…….id be telling legohead where to stick it too. All those posts during t he season where we were asking what did nwaneri do to arteta……it’ll sting if he goes naturally, but it’s not the players fault.
If he leaves I hope he's a world beater. That *word censored* Arteta needs to be shown as a fraud.
He has been a fucking disaster. Almost a billion spent on shite
Agree 100% with both of you - there can be no denying that for all of last season captain invisible was shite, and there were parts of last season that martinelli and trossard were poor and saka injured, and yet the limited game time Nwanieri got tells its own story with the cone boy. The rest of the league and country are raving about Nwanieri and yet his own manager doesnt rate him enough to play him more - the braindead cone boy fan club cite his age as a defence for not playing him, yet age doesnt seem to have stopped lewis-skelly at AFC or yamal at barca and countless other 17 year old's over the years

I am frequently on the record as saying that in a competition for places, unless the gap in quality is big, my preference will ALWAYS go to the homegrown players, and this kid should have been treated a whole lot better last season than he was
My advice to young Nwanieri if I was talking to him now, is to hang tough and dont walk away cos the cone boy is on his last lap and his tenure will soon be coming to an end - with all the clamour (in the media as well as the fans) stating that he needs to win a trophy this season or else, he needed a strong positive and pro-active transfer window, and this window is anything but that. Still havent bought a top quality striker and nothing out there tells me that we have a clear first preference target, and now we are strongly rumoured to have agreed terms to a chav reject that we hadnt been linked to before

Hasnt the cone boy continually spoke over months about having clear identified targets ? It seems that we havent bid for or contacted the clubs of rodrygo or nico williams or spoke contracts with players representatives and these were the wingers we were heavily linked with, but now out of nowhere we are rumoured to have agreed terms with the chav player - does that u turn suggest a clear plan or a club that is working on the fly ? With the tough start to the season we face, we needed players in early like the victims have done, but all we have done is brought in back up players despite all this shite about being a big summer for us.
As a side note I watched a small clip where the journo charlie wyatt spoke about Arsenal's transfer business and needs, and in it he openly said that captain invisible is the biggest factor for him, and that his performances last season where not good enough even in games when the team played well he didnt - I'd still rather buy a quality number 10 to replace captain invisible than buy a quality striker, but I know I am in minority there
