Would Eze be brought in to predominantly play left wing, 10 or a mixture?

We absolutely have to upgrade Martinelli this summer so I’d want his main position to be on the wing with the option of going in the middle at times.

Eze isnt a winger rodders - it is a misrepresentation of reality when people label him as a winger cos palace dont actually play with wingers. They play with two central attacking midfielders behind a lone striker, and eze is one of those attackers - he is lined up centrally with the freedom to go wide or through the middle, and it is lazy journalism that labels him a winger cos most teams play 4-3-3 and the journo's tiny brains are incapable of seeing any other system or formation

Secondly, eze in disappearing captain's position improves the productivity of martinelli 20% and of that I have no doubt - he feeds balls in behind for attackers to run onto, plus he gets the ball to them earlier which every attacker wants. If you say that martinelli improved by 20% still isnt good enough then I would say fair enough, but then go out and buy a proper winger like rodrygo or anthony gordon (dont want him at all btw) or even rashford, cos playing eze out there would be akin to play Bergkamp out there back in the day

City are in for Rodrygo.
With your track record we may as well start printing Rodrygo #14 shirts now.

I don’t think we’ll sign Rodrygo, but it would be an instant upgrade, of Alexis Sanchez style proportions.

I did read in Twitter that we’ve also been sniffing around Anthony Gordon. We’ll likely end up shoving Madueke out the left and call it a win.

6 goals and 5 assists for Rodrygo in La Liga last season. Meh, those are the type of numbers we’re trying to upgrade on and for the price he’s been quoted at it’s a no from me.

I can't see Rodrygo making it in the PL, he'll be crying after a month saying it's too tough.

Arsenal’s move for Cristhian Mosquera has stalled. Valencia reportedly unhappy with the Gunners’ approach. The player wants the move, but talks are currently frozen.

Tbf though rodders, he is playing in a forward line built around mbappe and vini jnr - it's like martinelli's stats are never gonna be as good as saka's regardless , cos most of our attacking playing goes down the right wing mainly cos our disappearing captain is hiding out there

I had contemplated the Mbappe affect Augie because as you say he’s going to hoover up all the forward ball in every team he plays for, but in the 3 previous season’s his G\A were -

10/5
9/8
4/4

He’s been at Madrid since 2019 and has only once (barely) got into double figures in the league. That’s against a lot of shit teams where Madrid totally dominate games from start to finish. Pretty underwhelming figures and when you look at what they’re asking for him then I don’t see the major upgrade on Martinelli if I’m honest.

Massive gamble.

I had LW as the second most important position to upgrade this summer after striker. By all means go in for Eze at 10 but not at the expense of upgrading Martinelli. If we only have the cash for one more midfield signing then it has to be for someone on the wing.

So the moves for gyokores and musquera have collapsed?

Typical after giving it the biggen to all the utd supporters I know

What an absolute total balls up of a transfer window. A useless backup keeper and a player we signed 38 times since January

Total and utter crisis club

Hasn’t been reported anywhere that either deal has collapsed.
