🚨 BREAKING from @David_Ornstein:

Arsenal make contact with Chelsea over move for Noni Madueke.

Clubs are now in talks after the winger agreed personal terms on proposed 5-year contract.

No deal yet but the player is prioritising Arsenal above any other interested sides.

Unlike the endless sagas around any quality players we’re linked with, I expect this signing to be made quickly, with minimal fuss and with us paying over the odds without so much as a whimper.

Fuck knows what Lego Head has seen in this bloke, but you can apply that question to no end of his signings and it’s hardly as though we all turn around and say “Well, Mikel was right and we were wrong.”

If it turns out to be yet another duff signing from Chelsea, then it really ought to put a few nails in cone boy’s coffin.

Apparently we're about 4/5m away from what Sporting are looking for in terms of how the deal is structured,we're haggling over it and then decide to talk to Chelsea about a guy who they want 50/55m for, there's no logic/sense in it.

A lady told me over the Petunias today (I am a Gardener) that we have offered 45 mil and Chelsea want 55 ,for a player that we will probably sell for 10mil in two years time.
They are haggling over an extra 5mil for a position we desperately need but are prepared to waste 45 mil+ on a reject.

Exactly Mc. Makes no sense, but I suppose we’re used to that.

I hate Chelsea far more than Tottenham, and have done since Abramovich. You can trace our decline as a club to the day Abramovich bought Chelsea. Dein and Hill-Wood bleated about them "firing fifty pound notes on our lawn" and allowed this victim mentality to infect our club by giving Wenger licence to preside over perpetual also-rans. Ferguson, by contrast, welcomed and rose to the challenge and kept United competitive winning 5 further league titles and a Champions' League.

Sure, Chelsea have had a pretty ordinary couple of years since the Russian sold, but if you take the last 20 we have repeatedly allowed them to use us as a repository for a succession of players they no longer have any need for who have done little for us and in many cases been absolute liabilities . I am sick of it. Enough. When we start remembering who we are and put them back in their box then I will recognise and respect my club again.

Saw this on twitter, thought it was spot on

How do you have names like Eze and Morgan Rogers at the table and come to the conclusion that Madueke is the answer?!?

Again, exactly this.

I’m still a believer in Martinelli, but are there any of his detractors that honestly believe that Madueke is an upgrade?’

The money Chelsea want for their reject is far too much for a squad player / bench warmer, so I’d imagine he figures in Lego Head’s starting plans. He won’t be replacing Saka, so is it Gabi he’s replacing?

Btw, if we sign Madueke and another forward player (eg. Eze), then don’t be surprised if no centre forward is signed.

As I’ve said all along, cone boy won’t want to drop Havertz and a couple of forward players signed will give him an excuse…albeit a spurious one.

I'm a Martinelli detractor, he's been turned into a headless chicken down a blind alley by the fuckwit in the dugout, any resemblance of potential has long left the building and captain black is not the man to get it back.

He is however the man to continue the ludicrous habit of buying the chavs cast offs and handing them a tidy profit at the same time (sackable offence on its own)..........he should have been relieved of his duties at the end of last season as he's a rank amateur in all aspects of whats he's actually responsible for.

My other concern is ,that the WC is next year ,so what guarantees did we give Madueke that would make us a productive move for him with that in mind ,hes not going to play ahead of Saka

Only thing I can think is that if gyokores is going to get on the end of headers, we need someone who can cross from the wing on there natural foot and not just cut inside

So swap Saka and Martinelli.

Madueke isn’t the guy we want regardless. It does seem, however, that he’s the guy we’ll get.

I absolutely agree that Martinelli’s regression in down to the tactics and instructions of Lego Head. I can help clinging to the hope that we’ll see the player that’s in there. It’s not as though we didn’t see it under Emery, so we know it is, or was, there. However, you’re right, it’s unlikely to happen under Arteta.

Seeing a possible resurgence in Martinelli (funnily enough, I thought he improved towards the end of last season) is only one of the many advantages to giving Lego Head the bullet. Depriving Chelsea of their annual transfer dumping ground, while we pay royally for the privilege of being dumped on, is another benefit, as you say.

🚨 EXCLUSIVE from @FabrizioRomano:

Arsenal have submitted initial bid for Noni Madueke around £50m package, add-ons included.

Chelsea want more than £50m fixed as Elanga/similar deals remain their reference.
