ALL Transfer talk - merged thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Norgaard tomorrow Gyokeres on Friday?

I'd be a lot happier with Eze signing.

Gyökeres apparently due back to training on Friday, will be interesting to see if he shows up for Sporting

I hate Chelsea far more than Tottenham, and have done since Abramovich. You can trace our decline as a club to the day Abramovich bought Chelsea. Dein and Hill-Wood bleated about them "firing fifty pound notes on our lawn" and allowed this victim mentality to infect our club by giving Wenger licence to preside over perpetual also-rans. Ferguson, by contrast, welcomed and rose to the challenge and kept United competitive winning 5 further league titles and a Champions' League.

Sure, Chelsea have had a pretty ordinary couple of years since the Russian sold, but if you take the last 20 we have repeatedly allowed them to use us as a repository for a succession of players they no longer have any need for who have done little for us and in many cases been absolute liabilities . I am sick of it. Enough. When we start remembering who we are and put them back in their box then I will recognise and respect my club again.
Great post Bob. Agree with every word. 8)

- except hating the chav more than the scum. It'll always be the other way round for me but I do have a healthy hatred for the chav. :D
yes great post...could not have put it any better Bob

Arsenal's last formal talks with Sporting for Viktor Gyökeres took place on Sunday.

Understand an asking price of €70m+€10m was quoted.

Discussions between all parties remain advanced, but Sporting yet to receive an improved formal bid despite the expectation of one.

Deal remains close, but Sporting will not accept €65m-fixed, and are now waiting to hear again from Arsenal before the week is out.🇸🇪 @JacobsBen

And we’re now paying between £40-50m for Madueke, who is just as shite as Sterling.

Why the rush to sign Madueke?, chavs will get desperate to sell to balance the books (sort of) later in the window.

£50m seems way too much, £30m +10 add-ons seems about right, delay it till later and get on with signing the striker and other winger... unless of course these isn't another... which is what worries me!.

Also sort out Saliba and Nwaneri contracts before Madueke, he's not bad but really we should have other priorities ffs.

Now a rumour we might be going cold on Gyokeres and back in for Sesko.. getting bored of this sh1t now!!.

I've been saying this for some time.

I think he is into the last 2 years. We need to pin him down now or cash in for top dollar.

This time next year is too late as the c.unts from Madrid will come calling and he will sign a pre-contract in the January and we lose out on prize asset.

Sadly we all know that our contract negotiation team consists of 1000 monkeys sitting at 1000 typewriters, hoping that eventually one of em gets it right :suicide:

If this was Cheaty, the dippers or the chavs, it wouldn't mean a thing because it would all get sorted out in a matter of hours. Because it's us though, you just know it will end in chaos and the inevitable talks "collapsing" because we are a fucking disaster in the transfer market. This will all fall through over the weekend, we'll go in for Sesko again but Leipzig will laugh off the pathetic bid, we'll start the season with no striker again, make a desperate, futile and offensively low bid for Isaak on deadline day and ten minutes before the window closes, try and convince everyone that Dominic Calvert Lewin, Ollie Watkins or some bloke from mid-table Spain was our main target all the time.
If this does end up as we all know it will, in a complete and utter shambles, there is no club in Europe who will sell us a striker unless he's shit, old, injured or all three. Fucking pathetic shit, as usual from the idiots running this club.

An astute club would have had him gone xmas 2023 and not persisted with the novice, an even more astute club would never have hired him in the fist place.

I can see him safely still in gainful employment as the 27/28 warchest is being cracked open in an effort to get Torsten frings out of retirement.
