It's easy to forget just how good he was. I was present at almost all of those games and definitely all the home ones and yet I was watching that as though it was the first time. Incredible.

You know, I don't do Facebook, but I've got an account and emails will come through with posts that people I'm connected to have made and occasionally I'll open them. Then there will be other posts that appear, often with clips of Arsenal games...the algorithms have us all worked out! Anyway, a couple of weeks ago I watched a few of the clips from various games and while I'm one of the biggest Wenger detractors on this forum, that side pre 2010 was in a different universe to any side since and especially now. There were clips of highlights from games that were 2008 or 09, when Paddy, TH14, Dennis and Bobby P had gone, but the quality of football was still way beyond anything we've seen in the last 12-15 yrs. To be honest, I was shocked. As I say, easy to forget how good those players and sides were.

THe timescale for this is obviously limited by everyone's lifetime experience but I'd like to add Jon Sammels to the list. He had a bullet shot and reading of the game that was a bit advanced for his teammates. He became the target of a few boo boys as was referenced in "Fever Pitch" which hit his confidence and then lost his place to Charlie George.
