Arteta will be here for the start of next season like it or not!
So we will have to wait and see how this transfer window transpires, with the right signings there can be no excuses (unless of course we lose half the team to injuries in the first few months)
Everyone in football and I'm sure Arteta himself knows he has to deliver a major trophy next season ie plge or clge!
I'd only accept an FA cup, were we to be very unlucky runners up in both the afore mentioned!
A very poor start to the season and I'm sure Berta would be talking to the Kroenkes !
So despite my doubts, if we have a good window, then I will be adopting a positive attitude on both Arteta and the team.
I actually can't wait for the new season as this was the worst in living memory!

With the “wrong” signings, there can be even fewer excuses.

In fact, regardless of what signings are or are not made, the time for excuses has passed.

Youre totally missing my point! I want Arteta out, but its not happening until we see how next season pans out!

I got your point Sid, I was simply making the point that if he fails to win a trophy next season, then there are no excuses under any circumstances.

And let's face it, the trophy in question has to be one of the big two. The FA or Carabao Cup won't cut it will it. If we wanted a manager to waste millions, pay 10m a year and win the odd FA Cup, we might as well take the time machine back to 2017 and give Wenger an ongoing rolling contract extension till the day he dies

Arteta has proved that finishing 2nd in the league is more important than winning cups.
He still has a job next season. Postanoclue has just won a cup but has been sacked.

I don’t necessarily agree but that’s where we are with football these days.

So……realistically when Arteta fails to win a trophy again next season (and he won’t ) he will still be in post for the 2026/27 season….

Looks like the peasants are revolting.

Apparently Arteta Out has been graffitied around the Emirates.

Can't say that I saw any last Friday when I went to Stereophonics at Finsbury Park.

Yeah, top notch.

What could be better, sunny summer evening, a few beers and decent music. Oh, somewhere between 50 &100k people :rubchin:

I think Arteta is now far more of a liability than even Wenger in his last 10 years.

1. Wenger did at least win a few FA Cups with a decaying team. Arteta won one in his first year but has won nothing since, despite having a better, deeper squad

2. Wenger may have presided over perpetual also-rans post 2006, but he did at least have the fig-leaf of the new stadium costs. Arteta has been given lots of money, and squandered most of it. Madwanka at 52 million would be the straw that breaks the camel's back.
