I have read a few comments about Norgaard from Brentford fans and they are mostly very positive. Age might be a factor but I think we might be surprised at how good he is.

I can't remember a more drawn out saga than this for any player. Absolutely buzzing he is joining us. If we get Eze, he is going to have chances galore next season. Finally sorted the 9. Bring it on.

Gyokeres is definitely making the right noises.

Now, call me a cynical old bastard but I'm not sure I fully buy it, especially from modern players. I think the days of the club man are long gone.

But either way, I like the fact he seems to have made some form of genuine sacrifice to help get the deal done.

But then, the cynical old bastard part of me is asking where is his loyalty to his current club, and will we be on the end of another chav rat fabregas and Vieira scenario like when they whored themselves to barca and Madrid respectively? Will he be "taking a bonus cut" and "dumping his bird" to go to PSG in two years time?

Who knows?

I'm just hoping he hits the ground running and scores a tonne of goals.

I quite like a some old heads in the side. The best teams usually have a decent mix of youth and experience. He wasn't expensive in modern day terms, so the age isn't an issue for me.

Am I being bad minded or have the club (finally) agreed to Sporting's demands partly to distract our attention from the Fact that the Madueke signing was getting far more negativity than they'd envisaged? From what I have seen on the various media platforms the majority of Gooners are slagging off the club! (So it's not just us!)

That's a bit of a conspiracy theory tbh, its a lot of money to drop if the aim was to placate the fan base. There are external factors too such as Gyok effectively giving his own money to reduce the transfer fee and his agent. They are nothing to do with Arsenal, and this could have dragged on if something didn't give. I understand why people would think in this way, but at the end of the day we got the most prolific striker in Europe for a similar price to that we paid for Auba.

Madueke is a shocking signing, but as a squad player he does offer more than Sterling. I am not happy its cost us £50m for the privilege though.

You may be right, but the club will be very aware of the reaction to the Madueke signing, so forcing the Gyokeres signing over the line to bury the bad news isn't impossible at all.

None of us were worried if it cost another 5m or so to land Gyokeres, the frustration was that we were haggling over relative loose change if he was the bloke we wanted. The anger is that we were fucking about over small numbers, even requiring the player and his agent to contribute, but then we blow 52m on a Chelsea flop without a second thought. As for offering more than Sterling, I'm afraid that really isn't very comforting!! We could have recruited a member of the women's team to meet that criteria.

I'm definitely a glass half empty type, if gyokie comes in and fires us to the title, my first reaction won't be yayyyy it will be why the fuck didn't you do this earlier when we all said we need a striker and we could have had 2/3 more titles
