Can someone please ring Aston Villa FC and ask nicely if Oliver Watkins is available and can he fly to Hong Kong at short notice.
This Gyokeres thing is a shambles at this stage. It is an embarrassing shambles.

There are literally no metrics by which you can justify the speed in which the deal for the chav reject got done, as opposed to the delay in getting a striker deal done - I'm not talking specifically gyokeres but any striker given that yet again this summer it was seen as the number 1 priority in most peoples opinions (an upgrade in the number 10 position is still my priority mind), Like I have said all along, the deeper we go in the transfer window without getting in a striker, the more the pressure will build and selling teams will know that - I dont know if that is happening here with sporting lisbon taking the piss, but even if that is the case the blame lies squarely at the feet of the cone boy for not bringing in a quality striker in the last 5 seasons, so our club needs to suck it up and accept that we are going to have to pay a bounty and get the deal done. If the club feel that gyokeres is not worth the money sporting are looking for, then I suggest that we should walk away cos if he isnt worth £80m then he isnt good enough in the first place - when you step back and look around at the difference a top striker makes to teams then £80m is not massive money in today's football world, but this basque clown doesnt know what the fcuk he wants and hasnt a scooby on how to value players, plus as retro has said many times, he will probably be quite happy with havertz and jesus as his strikers again this season

At this stage the club need to either seal the deal today or walk away for good - tbf the player and his agent have done everything possible to get the deal over the line and deserve better treatment from us, so either get it done today or apologise to the player and tell them that it wont be done and allow the player to make it seem like he has walked away from us, Time to then move on to the next name on the list before every half decent striker is already gone from our list
Next name on the list is Nicholas Jackson no doubt

Gyökeres deal has officially collapsed and is going to man utd.

Literally can't believe this shit, hope madueke gets a season ending timber style injury in his first game as karma for artetas neglegence on this
Portuguese press are running with that story.
I am not sure if it is a Sporting tactic.
Normally I would blame Arsenal for this fuck up due to our usual penny pinching but Sporting are notorious for changing the Goal posts just ask the Spuds and Utd.
It still doesn't take away from the over paying and speed of the deal with Chelsea which I find very suspect.

🚨 JUST IN from @FabrizioRomano:

Viktor Gyökeres mantains his clear position despite links with Manchester United and more clubs:

He wants Arsenal. ❤️

Understand Manchester United haven’t made a bid for Viktor Gyökeres and have no plans to do so.

Talks remain advanced with #AFC with a breakthrough expected soon.🇸🇪

Portugese press desperately trying to make up stories left right and centre! 🖕

I still think Arsenal are avoiding pulling the trigger, waiting for something......or someone else, whether that is Isak or Sesko or some other c.unt I don't know but the arguments over £3m are pathetic and small club minded.

Sportings CEO(?) Frederico Varandas has doing all he can to try and get his pound of flesh out of All Parties involved in the Gyokeres transfer.

He is reported to have said to a number of journalists a while ago that if He (Gyokeres) wants to leave Sporting, then both He and the club he goes to will have to pay a "Heavy Price", so it's not just about being tough in business, but just being a cũnt.

He has done this kind of thing previously with players leaving Sporting..... in some ways you might understand why he is being like he is, But at some point he has to do what is best for the club... also he is doing himself no favours as he is making enemies within the club itself; including players, and we all know where that can lead.

'
I believe it will (eventually) happen, but it makes Arsenal look 'Unprofessional and Stupid'; which of course is what Varandas wants.

What would be Poetic Justice is that if we play them in the near future and Gyokeres scores a Hat-trick and gives the Bird to Varandas. :D
